Picture of Landon>>>>>

I finally sat down and shoved a face full of waffles down my throat after all the camp members were done eating. I was surprised there was any food left; the guys had never-ending pits for stomachs. Groaning as the tasty food slid down my throat, I turned to face Owen.

“Wow, I’m surprised. These are almost as good as mine,” I said washing the food down with some milk.

Owen raised his eyebrow at me as a playful smile made its way to his lips. I could almost see a challenge beginning to brew. “Oh really? That’s funny, since mine are the best in the world. I’m sorry Mia.”

Rolling my eyes, I stood up and brought my plate to the sink. I rinsed off the sticky syrup before taking off my apron and tuning back to face the sexy cook. “Well, although they are very good mine still beat them by a mile.”

His perfect lips formed a pout. Wow, those were some nice lips. I bet he was a good kisser. He looked like he was really good at kissing. Mentally slapping myself for the impropriate thought, I blushed.

“No way they better than mine! Why do you think I’m the head cook? Because I’m better,” he replied immaturely, sticking out his tongue.

No, I think you’re the head cook because the camp counselor sees how completely over the top sexy you are. “Hey, that’s a low blow! Anyway, you need me here. Without me, you’d have so much extra work to do. You should be thanking me,” I said, shaking away some more inappropriate thoughts I was having. What was with all these thoughts?

“Well, I guess you’re right there. Oh and sorry about Landon. He can be, well, a teenage boy.”

I let out an embarrassed chuckle, thinking back to the comment he made. “More like a creep.”

“Well, you have to realize that you are the only girl at camp, besides Julie. And might I add a very pretty girl. So, get used to it,” he replied easily, drying the last dish. I could already feel my cheeks turning warm as he turned back to face me, a smile playing at his lips. “Oh and if you want to go back to your cabin and have Landon fix your curtain you should go now. I told him to go after breakfast, he should be waiting.”

Nodding in his direction, I swiftly took off my apron and headed for the door. Giving him a wave, I pushed through the cafeteria and outside. The sun practically attacked my eyes and I instinctively squeezed them shut. After the swirling black dots floated away, I walked down the dirt path making sure to steer clear of any rocks or grooves in the road.

Soon enough, I was at my cabin. To my distaste, Landon was waiting on the wooden steps, smirking down at me like an idiot. “You finally decided to show up.”

Ignoring his comment I pushed passed and reached for the handle. Pushing open the door, I quickly stepped inside the hot cabin.

“Well this is cute,” he said, walking in and plopping down on my bed.

Rolling my eyes, I nodded my head towards the bathroom curtain. “Last time I checked, you were here to fix the curtain, not make small talk.”

A grin spread over the prick’s face as I leaned down to pick up my bra and panties and throw them in my bag. “Hey be nice, I’m doing it for free. Next time I’ll charge you.”

“Yes, because I totally have a wallet full of cash to pay you with this summer,” I replied sarcastically.

“There is another way you could pay me back,” he instantly said wiggling his eyebrows.

Pretending to gag, I pointed over to the curtain. Landon slowly rose from the bed and inspected the broken rings, playing with them in his hands. Sitting down on my bed, I studied his backside as he leaned over. Well, he had and excellent backside.

“Are you checking me out?” he asked suddenly, his back still turned to me.

An eruption of warmth burst over my cheeks and I turned away, crossing my arms over my chest. “No way!”

A chuckle escaped his lips as he stood up straight and turned around. “You’re blushing!”

“Am not!”

“Are too!”

Jumping up from the bed I walked over to the door and pushed it open. “Get out you jerk!” I demanded, still a little bit embarrassed from being caught checking him out.

He looked at me, a little smile of victory plastered across his face. He had succeeded in getting me mad. It was something he was good at.

“I haven’t fixed your curtain though,” he protested, planting his feet firmly on the ground and crossing his arms.

“I don’t care just leave. Three broken rings won’t be a problem. It’s not like the whole thing is going to break!”

Landon’s smile quickly disappeared when he noticed I was being completely serious. Although I would have liked for his sexy self to walk out the door, he decided to do something much worse. Reaching upwards, he clutched the curtain with one hand.

“Ouch!” he shouted before crashing to the floor, one hand on his other foot as the other one brought down the shower curtain with him. I stayed with my feet planted to the ground watching him.

This time, not only three, but all the rings easily snapped off. He lay on the floor clutching one foot and the shower curtain as I stared at him wide eyed.

“Why did you kick me Mia? What the heck!”He lied straight to my face. I hadn't even moved a muscle? Had he really just pretended like I kicked him?

A familiar voice filled the cabin. “Oh nice! You kicked him. Wait until I tell the guys this!”

We both spun around to see Gavin leaning against my cabin door, hands in his pockets. “But I didn’t kick him!” I protested, looking back down at Landon.

Gavin’s face swarmed with confusion. “Well, for one he’s lying on the ground clutching his foot in pain, and second he said you did.”

“Yeah man, I’d watch out she has a really nasty kick,” Landon said with a snicker, standing up with the curtain clutched in his hand.

Grumbling I snatched it from his hand. “Well now I don’t have a bathroom curtain, look what you did!”

He laughed. “It’s your fault, you kicked me. But, I’ll fix it for free if you let me put it up while you’re taking a shower.”

I gave Landon a disgusted look. Wow, he was such a jerk! “How about you leave and I’ll fix it myself.”

I could have sworn I saw disappointment in his eyes as he lifted his hands up in the air. “Fine, fine I’ll leave. But you’ll owe me if you come begging me to fix it.”

Without another word, the sexy yet very annoying boy turned around and walked for the door. Gavin stepped to the side, allowing him to leave. Once he was down the wooden steps and far enough away I sighed and plopped down on my bed.

“Is there any chance you know how to fix the curtain?” I asked, looking up at the ceiling.

He laughed. “Nope sorry. But it shouldn’t be a big deal. It’s not like anyone will barge in here.”

I looked up at Gavin, a little smirk on my face. We barely knew each other yet he had a way of making me feel happy. And his dimples were so adorable. “Well there’s no lock on my door. You never know.”

He raised an eyebrow. “Is that an invitation?”

“No!” I immediately squealed, grabbing my pillow and tossing it at him. Gosh, being in a camp full of hormonal guys was stressful. It’s like they’ve never seen a girl before. “So how did you end up here? I mean, what guy wants to go to an all-boys summer camp?”

The room became silent as Gavin seemed to go into deep thought. Maybe there was a reason he was here. Maybe he had done something bad, gone to jail for a night.

“Well, two weeks ago I killed my cat. It was just annoying me, so I stuck it in the dryer. Next thing you know my parents think I’m crazy and send me here. They think it will help.”

I stared at Gavin wide eyed. He seriously killed his cat? Who does that? I mean, yeah they can be a little annoying, but come who just kills a cat for no good reason? And putting it in the dryer, that’s horrible.

Suddenly the awkward silence was broken by his cute laugh. “Can’t-believe you-you actually believed me!” he choked out between chuckles.

I sucked in a breath of air and frowned. “Not cool, I seriously thought you were some crazy metal job. I was about to make a run for it.” Crossing my arms self-consciously, I waited for his giggle fits to be over.

Once he was done gasping for air, he crossed the little room and sat down next to me. “The real reason I’m here is because my dad wants to keep me in good shape this summer. See, I swim on my high school team and this summer the coach is going to Spain. That means no practice. So, he sent me here to make sure I stayed fit.”

Oh, well that makes sense. He woke up early in the morning just to take a dip. I guess he really liked swimming, just as much as I liked running. “And how do you feel about that?” I asked, wondering if it was something he wanted.

“I wasn’t planning on having a summer filled with more dicks than chicks, but it has gotten better since yesterday,” he replied with a little wink.

“Oh really, why what happened yesterday?” I asked sarcastically, trying to flirt. Wow, I was already flirting and it was only my second day. Suddenly Julies face filled my mind, and I couldn’t help but think about her words: no physical relationships with the guys...

“Well, see this really cool and super pretty girl came to camp. And turns out, she’s a morning person just like me. Also, she’s like the only female who hasn’t been over the top attracted to this dick named Landon. So, she’s my type of girl.”

I felt my cheeks flush as he complemented me so easily. Not because he called me pretty, but because he said I wasn’t attracted to Landon which totally wasn’t true. The thing that annoyed me most about that jerk was my attraction towards him, even though he was such a dick.

I looked back up at Gavin, wondering why other guys couldn’t be like him. “Well, I’m going to wash up. See you later?” I asked, hoping to take a shower and get the lake out of my hair.

He smiled. “Yeah, oh and tonight we are having a bonfire. Well, usually the camp counselors are there but we planned this one on our own, so no supervision. Which means that there will be drinks. You should come.”

I thought about the camp fire and the rowdy boys. That was the last place I needed to be at one in the morning. “Maybe I shouldn’t go.”

“Oh come on, it will be fun!” he pleaded with his huge puppy dog eyes.

Sighing in defeat, I shrugged. “Fine.”

Only if I knew what I’d be getting myself into…
