"hurry up hayley!" i beeped the car horn after closing my phone. i rolled my eyes and continued to think about ashers messages. why did he care about johnny? it's not like we are going to start dating again, we live an hour away from each other. and i'm sure he'll find someone else.
suddenly my phone buzzed.

just wanted to tell you that someone else is moving to your new school.

my eyes watered as memories filled my mind. i knew we'd never be together again, but he really was the best thing that ever happened to me. was and will be.

i changed into grey nike sweatpants with an old sweatshirt of calebs. i slid on my slides and walked down the stairs to see my mom and hayley on the couch watching a movie. i smiled seeing my mom happy. she hasn't been in years.
"hey mom, i'm heading to brynns, is it alright if i spend the night?" i asked.
"yes that's fine, text me if anything changes and you head somewhere else! love you!"
"love you too." i headed out the front door and unlocked my car. i slid into the front seat and put the keys in the keyhole.

i arrived at brynns house and exited my car. i made my way to the front door and knocked twice. a happy brynn answered the door while eating a potato chip.
"come in!" brynn smiled opening the door farther. i grinned and stepped inside. i saw kenzie and lilia out on the patio and brynn motioned for me to go out as well.
i opened the sliding glass door and kenzie and lilia turned their heads in sync with a similar smile.
"hey anns!" kenzie patted the chair on her left. i sat down.
"where's jayden?" i questioned looking around the backyard.
"she'll be here soon, she's with armani." brynn winked as she sat down.
"i see," i laughed pulling the sleeves of my sweatshirt down.
"anns can i braid your hair?" kenzie questioned stretching two hair ties on her fingers. i nodded and sat down in front of kenzie.
"i have tea." i laughed looking back over my texts with johnny.
"oh what is it?" brynn squealed.
"so there was this girl, at my old school. she was honestly such a bitch and she used to tell me things that no one deserves to here. but anyways she's moving to our school and her name is Nadia."
"well it's safe to say if she's hated by us she'll be hated by everyone, and we will for sure hate her." lilia giggled texting on her phone.
"we won't talk to her," brynn assured.
"aw thanks guys." i smiled.
"done!" kenzie squealed. i thanked her for braiding my hair and then returned to my seat.

brynn🍍: idc but like which friends would he bring?
jayden🍉: um probably joey, noah, and maybe asher? i don't want anns to be uncomf tho.
annie : no i'll be fine
jayden🍉: if you don't want me to bring him i don't have to, you shouldn't have to be uncomfortable all night
annie : as long as brynns ok w them coming i have no issue with it
brynn🍍: i'm fine with them coming
jayden🍉: ok, we'll be there in a few xx

a few minutes later we heard a knock at brynns front door, and i shot a quick look of fear to kenzie and lilia as brynn got the door.
"you'll be fine, breathe." kenzie mouthed to me. i nodded my head and turned back towards the tv.
"come in." i heard faintly from the opposite room. many footsteps followed and suddenly a pile of guys plus jayden appeared in the living room. among the faces i noticed asher, staring at me with a smirk wiped on his face. i turned my head away almost immediately, and shot my eyes to my phone. i texted kenzie.

"come on can we do something a little more interesting?" joey complained halfway through Mean Girls.
"like what?" brynn laughed turning her head into him. it was so clear they liked each other, i mean brynn was cuddling up beside him like a teddy bear.
"like, how about we play 7 minutes in heaven?"
"ew no are we four?" kenzie laughed
"ok what about kiss marry kill?"
"that's still stupid and i'd much rather do seven minutes in heaven tbh." jayden exclaimed.
"ok, it's settled."

after jayden and armani left the closet, it was someone else turn to go. the way joey decided it should work was that we go in a circle, and when you get picked you spin a bottle to decide who's going in with you.
it was my turn, and i was honestly hoping i could get kenzie or brynn. so that i can vent about how confused i am.
"anns it's your turn." kenzie nodded towards me. i brought my hand out onto the bottle and gave a spin.
turn, turn, turn, finish.
i looked in the direction the bottle cap was facing. of course.
"looks like annie's with angel."
