Tyler was on his way to Janice's room with a bunch of red roses and something for her to eat when Kayla ran in front of him. "Hi, baby." She smiles blocking his path. "You've put on weight, hmm, you look so damn good right now, I just want to eat you all up." She smiles licking her lips.
He said nothing, he just stared at her, Martin had given him a description of her injuries but seeing them for himself was another thing. She had a long bandage slash from her right temple to the corner of her mouth and multiple small cuts all over her neck, chest, hands, and feet.
He also heard that when the men found out that she was three months pregnant they had stabbed her in the stomach, so he was guessing she had a bandage midsection under her nightgown. They were hoping that she would be so weak that she would stay there and bleed out and die but no, not Kayla, she was too damn stubborn to die.
He heard that she had gotten up and wandered out into a street where a motorist had spotted her and taken her to the hospital where she spends over two in an unconscious state and now here she was, in front of him. She put out her hand to touch him but he took two steps back.
"Don't," He sneers coldly. "Baby please, look what they did to me, they hurt me so badly baby, I need you Ty please, please forgive me, please." She begs. "The restraining order is still in effect, so stay the hell away from me, or I'll have you thrown in jail." He said in a tone as cold as ice.
"After everything I've been through Ty? You would really do that to me?" She asks her bottom lip trembling. Her signature move, to make him feel sorry for her but all he could do was snort in disgust. "In a heartbeat." He said stepping around her and trying to walk away but she grabs onto him with both hands.
'I've no intention of living my life without you Ty." She cried clutching onto him. "As if you have a choice." He snaps yanking his arm away from her. At that point, the chief of staff was passing by and seeing what was taken place he ordered the hospital security to get her off him and escort her back to her room, which they did, with her screaming how much she loves him all the way down the corridor. The chief then asks him to step into his office.
"Please sit." The man said indicating to the chair opposite him. "Sir I apologize for for...." The man held up his hand and shakes his head. "You don't need to apologize to me, Dr. Jackson. I was there when that woman put you in a coma remember? Now from the moment I learned of her presence here, I know it was going to complicate things for you.
Now, I was planning on sending you home on three weeks paid vacation but then another opportunity have present itself, now, before you shut me down, please hear me out." He said putting a few sheets of paper in front of Ty.
"Now the hospital in Atlanta has requested your presence to assist on a few difficult cases that have come before them. They have offered you a generous compensation package, all expenses paid. Your kids are now out of school on summer holiday, so take them and your wife with you and seeing as though you have some vacation time coming up, I suggest that after you're finished assisting the hospital, take a trip with the family, while we take care of things here, and by things, I mean your ex." He states.
"So what do you say?" He asks in a hopeful tone. "First I must say, thank you for the opportunity but may I speak to my wife about this before making my decision?" Ty asks. "Sure, just don't take too long, they need your answer by tomorrow." "Okay, will I be the only one going?" Ty asks.
"For now yes, what? Did you have someone else in mind?" "I was thinking of Jason and Dr. Smith, they also did an excellent job in Atlanta." "Okay then, I'll run it by the team in Atlanta, see what they say." "Thank you, sir." "Don't mention it."
