The whole week had passed by with Minela thinking about the possibility of having a child but she didn't tell Ariven anything. Does he even want one? How would he react if she told him. What if he never wanted to have one.

The cook had prepared prawns in black beans sauce, Minela's favourite. They were at home, they were casually eating dinner until Minela started gulping down her food at the speed of lightning.

"Minela, slow down!" She looked at him as she tried to speak but ended up choking. Ariven had to tap her back as he handed her water.

"I'm sorry, I just remembered I haven't checked the project my employee handed me today!"

"The sustainable clothing one? I already checked it."

"What? Why did you-"

"We're working on that project together, remember? "

"Oh, yes. I'm sorry." She sighed.

"You're always so stressed about work, aren't you?" He asked, stealing some food from her plate.

"That's mine!" She paused, "You're the one to speak, you yourself are coming home after working for two days and nights nonstop at your office!"

"Yeah...there were some problems..."

"So much problems that you couldn't even spare some minutes to call and inform me? I had to call your secretary to finally know on your whereabouts! "

"Yeah...someone had tried to hack into our system and we only came to know about that three minutes after it was hacked! Can you imagine? THREE FUCKING MINUTES! "

"Right, you had to stay because you're the best engineer that Watson and Gillions ltd. has."

"I did come home but you were already asleep-"

"And you were gone before I woke up."

He kissed her cheeks.

"This will not happen again, now do you forgive me?"

"I'm not angry, I was just worried, is it just work or-" Or what?

"You don't trust me?" He looked at her seriously. He knew he had a bad history but was hurt to know that he still hadn't gained Minela's trust completely.

"I do...I was just a little afraid, I guess..." Minela was subconsciously rubbing her belly while speaking to him. Ariven held her hand, halting her movement.

"What are you doing?"

"I..." She hesitated. She has been doing this quite a lot lately, without even realizing it. Even at the office, when she wouldn't have much work, she'd just rub her belly, silently contemplating whether she would ever be able to have children of her own. What made it worse was when Ariven once mentioned that he needed a new secretary as his current one was about to go on maternity leave. Everytime she saw some pregnant woman, her heart ached even more, wondering whether she'd be able to achieve such joy in her life.

"Haven't you been acting strange lately? He remarked. She froze. Should she mention it to him?

He looked at her belly which looked a tad bit rounder and bigger since she had just eaten.

"Haven't you eaten too much?" He asked jokingly, earning a funny glare from Minela. Ariven couldn't help but bend down and bite her cheek.

"Ewe, stop!" He let her go as he held her the way she didn't like, her head dangling at his back and her waist on his shoulder. She struggled and tapped his back. She was already used to it by now so she embraced the shock as she was awkwardly thrown on the bed.
