*Flashback part 2*

Mr. Gillion was a bit surprised that they were taking so much time. He wondered what they were doing.

Ariven stopped by a posh restaurant and stopped the car. He looked at the time again. He knew that Mr. Gillion would probably be waiting and he knew it would be inappropriate to drop Minela too late however, he couldn't stop himself. It would be ungentlemanly to have spent this much time with her and not treat her to a proper dinner.

"You must be hungry." He stated looking at Minela. She nodded as she was about to open the car door but Ariven quickly locked it.

"Please, let me do that." He said, rushing to the other side as he opened the door and held out his hand again. Once she was out of the car, he wanted to keep holding her hand and yet stopped himself. This was the first time meeting her, he didn't want to look like a creep. They remained a respectful distance as they made the way to the restaurant.

"I will have this salad." Ariven couldn't hide his surprise. Was she being shy?

"I don't like the look you are giving me, Mr. Watson. Are you judging me?"

"Ariven. Call me Ariven." He corrected.

"Ariven." He liked the way she pronounced his name, the way her velvety voice rolled off her tongue. He almost wanted to tell her to say it again but he stopped himself. What was wrong with him? He came to meet her today with the intent of rejecting her. And there he was, finding himself liking to spend time with her.

"No, I wasn't judging you." He clarified. Minela just gave him a short nod. Ariven wondered whether she was also enjoying herself as much as he was.

When it was time to pay, out of habit, Minela quickly removed her card, making Ariven stop her. He held her hand, secretly enjoying the momentary contact of their skin.

"Mr. Watson-"

"Please, do not humiliate me like this. I am paying." He stated firmly.

"Well, we can split-" She suggested. Whether they would marry each other or not, he was still a total stranger to her so she didn't want to owe him anything.

"Please, it was my idea to bring you here. I shall be paying." Minela just nodded, not wanting to argue.

When they were about to go, Ariven quickly disappeared and came back, his breathing slightly off, with a huge red bouquet. He looked at Minela, a little embarrassed as he said, "I'm sorry, I should've given this to you earlier...please forgive my poor planning."

Minela was surprised. Where did he even get that? Was he able to arrange a bouquet for her that fast. He must be good with women. Minela thought. She accepted the bouquet, smelling it. It was quite heavy. Minela smiled when she smelled it. Ariven thought she looked even more angelic when she smiled. Ariven took it again from her and put it in the backseat.

When they reached home, Mr. Gillion was waiting at the door. He looked anxious.

"I'm sorry, Sir..." Mr. Gillion was surprised at his sudden change of tone. Since the past few days, he finally felt like he had the upper hand. Minela quickly went to her room, feeling a bit embarrassed for no reason. She was a 25 year old woman and yet she felt like some 15 year old who came home later than she was supposed to.

Mr. Gillion gave Ariven a severe look.

"Now, after spending this much time with my precious daughter, don't you dare tell me if you still haven't decided upon the proposal. "

"Of course not Sir. Let's have a meeting to further discuss this-"

"Let's have a meeting no. I need an answer now."
