Ariven heard his phone ring. It was his PA. He was currently in the new house he had just bought, examining it.
"Hello Sir, Mr. Gillion has been waiting in the loby for an hour. He has refused to leave despite having been ordered to." He sighed.
The CEO of the Gillion Industries, one of the wealthiest industries in their country. He had tried to contact Ariven for weeks and Ariven didn't want to meet him. The last time they met, he wanted to do a partnership with him, however, upon realising the deplorable state the company was in, Ariven had refused. The company was a legend. It has been successful for decades, the family was almost like royalty in the country, they were the typical snob who would never associate with the normal people. They kept their circle small. Despite being rich, Ariven never saw himself associating with people like them and yet, for the past few weeks, Mr. Gillion had been desperately trying to contact Ariven and Ariven almost knew why. They needed him. He had been trying to avoid him as much as possible and yet, there he was, at his office, refusing to leave unless he met Ariven. When Ariven enterred his office, his guard quickly apologised.
"I'm sorry Sir, I've been trying to get him to leave but he wouldn't go." Ariven just nodded dismissively at him as he motioned for Mr. Gillion to join him in his office. Mr. Gillion followed him hurriedly. He would convince her for a partnership, no matter what. Ariven was what his company needed the most. Only he had enough resources to save them.
Mr. Gillion took a seat.
"I apologise for coming here like this but this is an urgent situation..." Mr. Gillion said, giving Ariven a pleading look. He knew Ariven didn't want him there and he was surprised that he didn't kick him out as soon as he arrived.
"I'm surprised that the CEO of the Gillion Industries himself is in my office. I'm honoured." He said, trying not to sound sarcastic. He observed the man, he appeared desperate. What does he want?
"Mr. Watson, I know you refused for a 50-50 partnership with us but I'm here for a new proposal."
Ariven nodded, motioning him to continue.
"Mr. Watson, I'm here, not as a businessman, but as a simple man, asking you for a favour. I'm going to be completely honest with you, our company is doing badly and we might have to declare bankruptcy in a year or two. I have two daughters and a wife, I'm just here to ask you for help and I promise that I'll be forever indepted to you." This made Ariven chuckle.
"Simple man, you say Mr. Gillion? There is nothing simple about you. Before I refuse, tell me about your proposal."
"I'll give you 60 percent ownership for the previous amount that we discussed. I heard that you wanted to expand your company, think about it. Our company might not be doing too well, but we still have our loyal client and customers-"
"Now, Mr. Gillion, I might be CEO but this is not my decision alone to make, I still need to consult my CFO, COO, my other shareholders as well as my board of directors. If you had done things the proper way, that is contacted my Secretary about this, we could have reached a decided conclusion." He did find the proposal tempting but the state of the Gillion Industries made him doubt whether it would be worth it. There was too much financial risk involved to simply accept everything. For a family who had their legacy intact for years, he was surprised that they were willing to let go of their company that easily.
