TENSION

I touched up my hair as I looked in the mirror. I felt good as I examined myself. "Wow! You look amazing, totally gonna get laid." Millie smirked, coming over to me.

I rolled my eyes, "Thanks, but I'm not planning on getting laid or drunk, I guess I wanna remember tonight." I turned to look at Sophia. "Wow, you really do pull off green, it looks great on you."

"Thanks babe!" the short-haired girl replied eagerly. "The limo should be here in like, now." Then there was a knock on the door.

"That would be my hot date!" Millie announced eagerly, running over to the door. She let her boyfriend in. His name was Asher and was also one of the hottest boys in school, with his dark hair and bright green eyes, he was to die for. Unlike Finn, he was a golden boy and the captain of the football team. I once found myself drooling over him but I had to realise, he belonged to my best friend yet that didn't stop me getting nervous around him. "Hey ladies. Sadie." he sent me a smile.

"Hi." I replied, scolding myself for being so awkward. Asher examined me for a moment making me want to curl up in a ball and hide.

"You look great by the way, let's go."

I walked in, linked arms with Sophia so I didn't have to third wheel. I glanced around to try to find Jack and swoon him with my outfit, x I met with the eyes of Finn. I could see he was checking me out so I just stared back. I hate to say I felt my heart leave my body as he winked at me. "Sadie! Jack's there." Sophia informed me, breaking me out of my stare.

I turned to see him. He approached us and I couldn't take my eyes off him, his slightly curly locks, his big brown eyes and that gorgeous smile. "Hey girls. Sadie, you look..." he paused for a second searching for the right words to say, "you look beautiful."

"T-thank you, Jack." I stumbled upon my words as I stared into his beautiful brown eyes. I wasn't even paying enough attention to realise that Sophia had disappeared into the crowd, leaving Jack and I alone. I built up the courage, "You know, you don't look too bad yourself."

"Sadie... I- um, I don't think you, uh, mean it like that, but..." my heart began to race, "I'm gay, Sadie." With that, my heart shattered into a million pieces. All these times I thought he was giving me signs he liked me and all this tension was just nothing to him? I took me a while to comprehend what he'd just said but when I finally did, I burst into tears. I just couldn't help myself, I just had to let it all out. I sobbed in front of everyone.

"You know your friend, the ginger one, long curly hair? Really hot." Joshua questioned, I really wasn't paying attention as I sipped on my drink. "Would you be able to get me her number or introduce me to her?"

"No." I snapped. "We're not friends and no, I can't." I rolled my eyes at his begging, he was starting to piss me off.

"Why dude?" The room fell silent in a matter of seconds and everyone's heads were turned to the centre of the room. It took me a few seconds to figure out what was going on but I soon realised Sadie was sobbing her heart out in front of everyone. She shoved by Jack and out of the doors. Of course, I followed her.

"Sink." I said simply, standing over the girl as she cried, sat on the curb of the pathway.

"What do you want Finn?" she snapped angrily, tears streaming down her cheeks. I sat beside her and looked into her teary blue eyes. I could tell she was distraught. "Are you here to give me some fucking lecture? Oh I told you so, Sadie!" she mocked between her sobs. "Just fuck off! All you ever do is fucking mess with my emotions and I can't take it anymore! Fuck you, Finn! Fuck you!" I cut her off by pulling her into a hug, she resisted at first but eventually gave in and cried into my shoulder. "Why me?"

I pulled away from her and stared into her eyes. Until this moment I never really realised how beautiful she was. I cupped her face with my hands as we both leant in and-

"SADIE!" prissy Millie came running over to her, I quickly let go of her and moved away slightly. I can't believe I just tried to kiss Sadie Sink.
