"It's a date..." I mumbled to myself, smiling like crazy, holding my phone up to my chest."What? When?" I heard a familiar voice as my bedroom door swung open, causing me to leap up from my bed. Millie entered my bedroom with a raised brow.
"Oh. Uh, it's nothing." I was so bad at lying, "I was just reading a book."
"What, an invisible one?" she questioned me, taking a seat on my bedroom floor.
"On my phone, silly." I informed her waving my phone so she could see. "Also you don't have to sit on the floor, you're always welcome up here." I joked, patting my bed.
"I know, but I like it down here." she smiled. "Can't you just wait for Halloween?!"
"Millie, it's still August."
"I know I know! But still!" She beamed. "We are going to have so many parties!"
"We? Don't you mean you." I rolled my eyes at her statement.
"You are so boring."
"No I'm just sensible." I sneered.
"Boringgg!" she said, folding her arms.
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"Okay fine! I'll go to some stupid halloween party." I finally gave in so she would shut up.
"Yay!" she did a little victory dance that actually made my skin crawl.
"Please stop." I covered my face in embarrassment. She continued prancing around my room. Luckily, my phone pinged, catching her attention.
"Who is it?" she asking nosily, peering over my shoulder. "O.M.G! No way!" her excited words practically piercing my ears. "You never told me you had Finn's number." she folded her arms and tapped her left foot.
"And I don't need to?" I rolled my eyes, replying to his message.
"Well yeah you do, he is totally into you." she told me, sitting beside me on my bed. I almost blushed and despite the butterflies in my stomach, I managed to play it cool.
"No, he isn't. We're just friends." I told her.
"Friends?! You see him more than you see me!" she said in annoyance.
"Well I don't see Finn storming into my house every single day without and invite, so that's a lie."
"Well I don't need to be invited. I basically live here now." the girl smirked. "You always keep your love life a secret from me, and we're like... sisters!" she pretended to cry.
"You are terrible at acting." I rolled my eyes. "And I don't even share my love life with my own mother so why would you be any different?" I joked.
"Because... we're besties." she smiled.
"Fine. I'll tell you."
