"Kaneki?" I turned around and saw (Y/n) looking at me.
"Are you okay? Does your eye hurt?" She asked smiling. "I'm fine... it doesn't hurt." I said. We walked out of the bathroom and i sat back down on the bed. (Y/n) sat down on a chair that was beside the bed.
My eye turned back to normal and I looked at hide. "Huh... Your eye looks normal now. I don't know why it looked so weird earlier but try not to think about it too much." Hide said and stood up.
(Y/n) looked at hide. "You're going already?" She asked. "Yeah. I got some homework to do." He said smiling.
Hide smiled and whispered to me. "it didn't work out with Rize, so how about (Y/n)?" I blushed slightly and glared at him.
Hide laughed and walked towards the door. "Bye Kaneki and (Y/n)!" He said and left the room.
(Y/n)'s POV
You realized that you were all alone with Kaneki now and got a little nervous. Neither you or Kaneki said a word for a while. Both of you just stared down trying to think of what to say.
"(Y/n)?" He said suddenly. "Yes?" You answered and looked at him nervously. He took the book you gave him earlier from the drawer and smiled. "I just wanted to thank you again for giving me this book. But... How did you know that Sen Takatsuki is my favorite author?" He asked.
Your eyes widened and your face turned red. "I-i just saw you reading books by that author very often at school." You said nervously. Kaneki looked down at the book and smiled. "It's nice having a friend like you (Y/n)" He said and looked at you.
You felt happy when you heard that. "Y-you're a great friend too Kaneki..." You said smiling and stood up from the chair. "I'll visit you again tomorrow if you want." Kaneki looked at you and nodded.
ONE WEEK LATER
Kaneki's POV
I walked out of the hospital. I took out my phone and texted Hide. "I was so bored that it felt like i was here much longer than one week..." I walked down the street past many people while looking at my phone.

Hide texted me back. "I'm happy you're finally out! We should meet up soon!" I put my phone back in my pocket and kept walking past people. I suddenly started feeling hungry. But, that hunger was nothing like I felt before...
I started looking at people while walking. "People... People... Children... People... Girl... People... Man... Flesh... Children... Flesh, Women, Flesh, Flesh, FLESH, FLESH!" I suddenly stopped walking and my eye turned black again. I quickly covered it and ran home as fast as i could.
