"Kaneki?... What is he doing here?"
Kaneki looked at you and his eyes widened.
Hikari smirked and took out her phone. "Huuh? someone's calling me!" She pretended that someone called her. "Hello? Oh! Yes i will be there in a minute!" She stood up and smiled at you. "I gotta go."
That weird smile appeared on her face again. She put the money for the coffee on the counter and ran out.
"I knew exactly why she left... She wanted to let me be alone with Kaneki. What should i do? Should i talk to him?" You took a deep breath and looked at Kaneki. "Hey Kaneki! Do you want to talk?" You said while smiling.
"Sure..." He smiled and sat down on a seat that was on the other side of the table.
You looked at his white eyepatch. "What's with that eyepatch?" You asked.
The smile on Kaneki's face disappeared immediately. "O-oh that? My vision is not so good in that eye and it was quite distracting." He said.
Kaneki's POV
I had to lie. The truth was, that whenever i felt hungry, i couldn't control my eye and it turned black. Touka told me that everyone working here are ghouls.
Ghouls are a human's biggest enemy. They are creatures that look like humans, but can only eat humans. Everything else tastes like horse crap to them.
Touka saved me from a ghoul earlier. I would be dead by now if she wasn't there...
Flashback
The ghoul who was eating a human in the dark alley, wanted to give me the dead human's hand.
Suddenly, someone kicked him in the head from behind. The foot literally stabbed through his head. He was dead for sure.
"You should know better than trespass on my territory..." The person who killed that ghoul looked at me. It was a guy with hazelnut colored hair.

"Never seen you before... Why is only one of your eyes black? That's messed up." He walked up to me.
"Do you know what happens to people who trespass on my territory?" He grabbed me by my neck and lifted me up against a wall.
"They die." He said and his eyes turned black. I was trying to make him let go of my neck.
"I-i just happened to be passing by! I didn't know it was your territory!" I said.
Suddenly, I heard a girl's voice behind the ghoul. "It's not your territory Nishiki." She said and her eyes turned black.
Nishiki let go of me and I fell on my butt coughing. He turned around and looked at the girl. "What did you say Touka?..."
"This is Rize's territory." She said. Nishiki growled at her.
"I already know that Rize is dead. I'm just reclaiming my territory." He said.
"Rize took your territory because you were weak. And you still are." Touka said.
Nishiki growled and started walking towards her. "You're starting to piss me off..."
Touka started walking towards him too. "Do you think I'm scared?"
"You should be!" Nishiki charged at her trying to punch her in the face, but she bent down dodging it and punched him right in the stomach.
Nishiki coughed blood. Touka looked at him. "Want me to go a little harder next time?" She asked.
Nishiki growled and ran away.
End of flashback
I looked at (Y/n). I hoped she would believe what i said and didn't ask any further questions about my eye.
"Hey Kaneki? Why are you working here now?" She asked suddenly.
I smiled and said "I'm just bored. I want to see how it is to work at a coffee shop. Anteiku is a nice coffee shop. The coffee here is great." I looked out the window. It was raining.
(Y/n) looked at her watch. "I gotta go" She smiled and got up.
I got up too and picked up her empty coffee cup. "Do you need an umbrella?" I asked.
She shook her head and put on her hoodie. "No thanks." She smiled. "Bye Kaneki" She said and walked out.
I went and put the empty coffee cup on the counter.
"Be careful around that girl... She can't find out you're a ghoul." Touka said suddenly.
I looked at her and nodded. "I know."
"If she would ever find out about us, I would have to kill her right on the spot..." She said.
"You would What?!" I looked at her and my eyes widened.
A girl and a woman walked in Anteiku. "Ryouko!" Touka ran to them. They were all wet because of the rain.

"Kaneki! Go and get some towels!" Touka shouted.
"Y-Yes!" I ran to the staff only room and came back with a couple of white towels. "H-here." I gave the towels to the girl and the woman.
"Thank you..." Said the woman and wiped her and the girls' hair with the towels.
