Code Blue. Treatment 2.
Upon hearing this, everyone ran to Treatment 2 as they knew that's the room Taylor was in.
"What happened?" Drew asked panicked as he rushed in and saw Molly.
"I found her like this" Molly explained, as she held Taylor who was fitting.
"Taylor?" Drew asked panicked, taking hold of his daughter as Jordan did the same to stabilize her on her side. TC went above her head and stabilized her airway.
"Push 10 of diazepam" He ordered, as the teen continued to seize. TC grabbed an oxygen mask and held it against Taylor's face. Molly drew up the drugs and injected them into the teens arms as they hadn't placed an IV. After a minute, the drugs still hadn't worked.
"Push 5 more" Jordan suggested.
"No, no wait. She took something. I don't know what but her pupils were dilated. This could be something to do with that" Drew remembered. TC and Jordan nodded.
"Bingo" Jordan said, searching Taylor's pocket and stumbling across the small plastic bag with a single pills inside.
"Looks like MDMA" TC commented.
"It could have been a bad patch. Jordan, push 2mgs of Narcan, she might be OD'ing" TC ordered, as they ran through all the possible scenarios. Jordan drew up the drug and injected it into Taylor's arm. As another minute passed, Taylor slowly began to stop fitting. Once she completely stopped, they rolled the teen back over and laid her down.
"Let's place and IV in case she fits again. Molly can you run a full blood panel." TC said, creating a plan of action.
"Let's get her hooked up to the monitor and leave her on the O2 until she comes around." Jordan added. Molly nodded and got to work.
"Drew-" Jordan started.
"Yeah, I ermm. I have a patient to check on" Drew said distantly, before he walked out of the room. Rick, who had been watching from outside, followed his husband up the corridor.
"Drew" He said, trying to get him to stop walking.
"Drew" Rick said a little louder.
"I can't...I can't see her like that" Drew stumbled, fighting back his anger and tears.
"This is down to Katherine! She raised Taylor with all this stuff" Drew said angrily.
"Hey...hey, none of that matters right now. Taylor's here, with us. With you. She'll learn from this" Rick said, calming Drew down. Drew nodded his head and hugged Rick.
"I hope so. I'm going to go call her mom" Drew stated, before he walked away. Rick sighed and decided to go sit with Taylor so she wasn't alone.
Drew walked outside and sat down on the bench. He pulled out his phone and clicked on Katherine's number. It rang and rang but she didn't answer. Drew tried a few more times before her left a message.
"Katherine, it's me, Drew. Taylor's here with me. Call me" Drew kept it short and sweet before he hung up. Drew spent a few minutes outside before he went back inside to check on a few patients and keep himself distracted.
An hour goes by before Taylor starts to come round. She opens her arms and looks around the room before she realises what had happened. She shifts a little in the bed to get more comfortable. As she does this, she looks at Rick who is sat in the chair next to her bed.
"Not you again" She scoffs.
"You're really lucky." Rick stated.
"Ok." Taylor mutters, not really caring.
"I'm being serious, you had your dad and everyone else worried"
Taylor rolls her eyes and stays silent.
"You don't care do you?" Rick asks the teen, right before Drew walks into the room. Drew could obviously sense the tension in the room as he sat down on the end of the bed.
"I want to go" Taylor states, sitting up and pulling off all the wires. She then stood up, pulled out her IV and grabs her jacket off the side. She goes to leave but Rick and Drew block the door.
"Can you move?" She asked aggressively, starting to get wound up and annoyed.
"You need to stay in hospital and be monitored, the drug is still in your system" Drew explains, feeling like he had no control over his daughter.
"Can you just fucking move out the way." Taylor shouted, taking both men by surprise. Not really knowing what to do or how to react, Taylor managed to barge passed Rick and Drew and run out of the ED.
Shell-shocked by his daughter's outburst, Drew glanced at his husband before he ran out after his daughter. But it was no luck, by the time he had ran outside, she was gone.
"Hey, hey, look at me." Rick said, drawing his husbands attention, as he had ran out right behind Drew
"We'll find her" Rick assured his husband. Drew couldn't say anything so he just nodded his head. The pair walked back inside to the others who had heard about Taylor running out.
"We heard...she'll be alright" TC said, as they all gathered around the front desk.
"Yeah, she's a teenager. Just give her some time" Jordan reassured, through her own experience on females.
"Thanks guys" Drew said distantly, before he walked away into the break room. Rick could sense that Drew needed some time alone so he decided to go dig up anything he could on Taylor's mum and see if he could contact her. They needed to sort this all out, the sooner, the better.
