- name in the american adaption of Voltron Defender of the Universe was actually Sven. Sven, a Norwegian version of Shiro from the original VDOTU Japanese version as well as VLD, was only used in VDOTU for the english audience and made an appearance in an episode later on in VLD, however he was not fully adapted into the new Voltron.
