"Jennie? Jennie!" Jisoo's voice wafted in like it came from a distance. Jennie then felt a slight shake of both her hands, and she blinked her eyes open to see Jisoo scanning her face worriedly. Looking down, Jennie saw her hands were still holding on to some serviettes while Jisoo was grabbing her hands.

Then, Jennie realized what had happened and it hit her like a freight train. Holy fuck, I derailed and was actually fantasizing about her in front of her! And now I'm caught! By her, no less!

Clearing her throat and shaking her head quickly, Jennie asked the only thing that could return her to reality, "Yeah, I'm fine, I think I spaced out. Sorry, what were you saying?"

"Thank goodness, because for a moment I thought you're going to die on me," Jisoo chuckled, sighing in relief as she leant back into the sofa, still keeping her soft hold on Jennie's fists. "You blanked out after I asked about why you are nervous."

Oh, so she didn't run my palms up her thighs. And she didn't...

"But I wonder what was on your mind though," Jisoo's smile transformed into a half-smirk with a sly raised brow, "because you moaned."

Fuck. Jennie gulped and felt her cheeks burn, withdrawing her hands from Jisoo's warm grasps and looking anywhere but at Jisoo. "I wasn't moaning, mind you. I was... sighing," she was desperately finding an excuse as she placed the serviettes back on the table, "because, well, you were being irresponsible, driving and drinking."

God, it was so lame Jennie cringed at her own words and pretended to be interested in the drinks on their table, refusing to meet the eyes of the girl next to her. This is getting bad.

----------

Propping up the side of her head with an elbow on the backrest, and her unharmed margarita in the other hand, Jisoo watched with amusement at Jennie's obvious fluster while keeping her eyes down on the drinks. She was halfway through her drink when she played along to end the girl's misery, "Ah, I see, so you were... sighing."

"Exactly!" Jennie replied too enthusiastically with large agreeing eyes as she chose a martini and finally turned to look at Jisoo. Even in the dark, Jisoo could see the adorable red flush in those fluffy cheeks.

"In exasperation?" Jisoo suppressed her bubbling grin.

"Yes, precisely! I was sighing in exasperation, at your irresponsibility," Jennie shouted over the music, nodding eagerly and gesturing an accusing hand at Jisoo. Her acting was so poor Jisoo found it cute and could not bear to call out the glaring lie.

To be honest, Jennie's sudden pounce did shock her, but the reason behind the pounce made Jisoo feel so much more – the genuine concern Jennie had for her and the worry she carried when she thought of Jisoo endangering her life, touched something deep within her. But Jennie will never know.

And Jennie was now chugging down her martini as if her life depended on it, and Jisoo chuckled softly to herself before finishing her own drink. Jennie's cocktail glass was on the table, empty, by the time Jisoo was done.

Raising her hands up, Jisoo feigned guilty, "Okay, you caught me, I'm irresponsible, but it's because I failed to tell you that I will not be driving you home – I always collect the car the next day. Can I go now, cop?" She watched Jennie visibly relax and nod in the cutest way possible.

"Now let's be responsible for why we are here." Jisoo stood up and offered a hand, "Shall we?" Her heart skipped at the contact when Jennie took her hand and smiled in response, "Let's, I sure need a dance right now."

Once Jennie was upright, Jisoo let go of her hand and started to tug carefully at the hems of Jennie's tight black dress, adjusting and smoothing it to ensure no wardrobe malfunction. "All set," she smiled satisfactorily at Jennie, who was unmoving and looking at her so intently like she was searching for an answer.
