Chapter 26

-Harry's P.O.V

Louis told Liam to get behind him as well as the rest of us. Anna clung to me while Jamie sat on the table.

"I'm not moving," Louis said. I set Anna on the table next to Jamie so they could stay hidden. "Harry, you have our baby in you. Stay behind me," He was right. I wanted to protect Louis too, but if I got hurt or something, the baby girl could get hurt, resulting in something bad, so if I tried to save Louis, I'd be selfish by risking our daughter's life.

"You have some nerve coming here," Louis' father said. "I was hoping I'd kill the kid before he woke up," I grabbed my son's hand immediately, hissing. Louis glanced at me then back at his father.

"You're not touching him," No one was going to touch my son or my Anna. She was probably the safest one there at the moment.

"Perhaps I won't kill him after all. Maybe experiment on him like a lab rat. See what those kitty ears do that make him different and give hybrids killing tendencies-"

"They're not murderers! They're people! Just because one accidentally killed mum in a car, doesn't mean the rest are trying to kill people!" Louis shouted. Louis stepped forward and to his father. "I miss Mum too! She was my world! My everything! She treated me like I was gold. I get you're angry at her dying, but her death wasn't intentional! She just so happened to be crossing the street at the wrong time and the hybrid behind the wheel! Don't go around blaming other people for her death. You're not only doing damage to them, but to yourself as well by not allowing yourself to get over it. I'm over Mum's death. I miss her like crazy. You do too. But I've moved on. I've found my new happiness. If you truly cared for me, you'd see my happiness are these three. Soon four. You'd let them go and leave all the hybrids alone," Louis was red, but his father was redder. I could see hints of clear glass coating his father's eyes. Louis' words got to him.

"Get out," he spat. "Take them and leave. Do not ever cross paths with me again. Understand me?"

"Oh I understand," Louis said back. He turned around and came to us, and grabbed Anna. I grabbed Jamie and we hurried out. As soon as we got in the car, I broke down into tears. Louis turned to me and grabbed my hand. "Harry, I'm so so sorry," his voice cracked. "I never in my entire life would have allowed that to happen. I'm so sorry; it's all my fault. Jamie almost died because of me!" He was freaking out. He sat in the seat and leaned against the seat, grabbing his forehead.

"Louis!" I shouted and grabbed his arms and pulled them from his face. "It's not your fault! I promise you. It's not your fault! You didn't kidnap us! Your dad did. This is his fault. Not yours. I love you. We both love you so much. Please don't blame yourself!"

He punched the steering wheel, causing Anna to jump and get all whimpery.

"D-Daddy,"

"Louis, pull over," I told him. "Let me drive," he did as told And pulled over, the two of us switching seats. I could understand where he was coming from. His father tried to kill two people he truly cared about, but he didn't realize he's not his father. They're two different people and he needed to understand that. His father's actions don't reflect onto Louis, but he seemed to think that they did.

"D-Daddy?" Anna said. "Are you okay?" He was full on sobbing in the seat beside me, scaring his daughter. Jamie was just being quiet.

"Louis, you need to calm down," I told him. "Baby, we're fine. Jamie and I and the baby are okay. Please calm down. You're scaring your daughter," Louis looked back at Anna, teaching back and grabbing her hand.
