After a while, I had received a bit of hit from Lady Corrin, apparently we are being sent to the Bottomless Canyon to do some sort of recon mission about a fort, should be easy enough, and to make matters better, we're having some help from a soldier...I don't like to look of his face, I feel like he's hiding something. But soon we arrive at the Canyon.

Lady Corrin was the first one to speak. "Is this the Bottomless Canyon?"

Of course Gunter spoke, to answer her question. "Yes. It's the natural boundary dividing Nohr and Hoshido."

"It can't really be bottomless, can it?"

"Le the eternal darkness below be your answer. Those who fall in never return... I truly despise this place. Something about the land around here just isn't right. The sky here is always dark and foreboding, and the lightning strikes all who would fly across. This is clearly a place us mortals were never meant to enter. Normally we'd go around... But the fort that King Garon wants surveyed is right over there."

"Oh, it's not so bad. Or perhaps I'm just so happy to be outside in the fresh air! Compared to the inside of that fortress, this is downright exciting."

"Ha! That certainly puts things in perspective, milord. Come, let's proceed." Yet before we could even start to move, some other Hoshidans walk up to us, earning a reaction from Gunter. "Blast! It looks like this fort isn't as abandoned as we thought. Why the devil is this place crawling with Hoshidans?"

Then the Hoshidan troop who walked towards us spoke. "Hold on! Do not advance any farther, soldiers of Nohr." "Crossing that bridge is a violation of our border treaty. Turn back at once or we'll be forced to attack!"

Jakob then spoke, asking what we should do

"We're not here to fight. I suppose we'll have to turn back and report to Father."

"Wise decision, Lady Corrin."

"Who asked you, old man?" Then the soldier spoke, Hans.

"What?!"

Then Hans attacked and killed the Hoshidan soldier near us. "Ah ha ha! Die, scumbags!"

Of course the Hoshidans didn't take too kindly to this. "You'll...pay for this!"

"Hans, what are you doing?! We had no reason to engage these troops!"

"Pfft."

"We should have tried diplomacy first. We weren't sent here to fight!"

"Speak for yourself, weakling."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Soldiers of Hoshido, hear me! Do not leave a single Nohrian alive!" "Prepare to attack!"

"Argh! Looks like there's no getting out of this now. Get ready to fight, Lady Corrin."

Thus the battle began, and of course Gunter taught Lady Corrin some more things about the battlefield. Lady Corrin had me pair up with her in combat, asking me to help her with attacking, so of course I complied.

"It would be my honor, Lady Corrin."

"Thank you (Y/N), now let's keep going!"

We took out the first two Hoshidans with ease, and Hans was defeated by the "Invincible Fortress" as Gunter claimed, but for some odd reason, we were able to overcome it rather easily after Lady Corrin used a Dragon Vein to open up a bridge to behind it so we could pick off the enemies behind it. And after that, we soon made our way to the rest of the enemies, to seize the fort, and once we did, we had won the battle.
