Toby:

I noticed that I had been drifting off from my friends. Since I have to travel a lot, and my girl broke up with me, but fuck her. Ya know, monsters and all. Well, technically demons. And I was starting to miss them. I decided to tell my family what I've been trying to tell them for the past 2 years.

"Mom."

"Yes?" She looked at me

"I need a fucking break."

"...break? But you're our best guy." She looked confused

"Well. I just. I miss my friends, I miss living here. I miss all of our good times..And with all the fighting non stop over the years. I just need a break. Not too much of a long one. But. I just need one." I sighed

"Hmmm. Sigh okay. Take a few month break. You're right. You've been doing this since you were 13 with no breaks. And you need one so. A few months break shall do. Are you sure you can survive on your own? Remember, demons are still after you too. So you aren't totally safe."

"I'll be fine. I promise you'll come home and see me perfectly fine."

"..Okay then." She kissed my cheek and we said our goodbyes as they went to the next place. I fell onto the couch and fell asleep.

"Ey! Toby! Wake up! You snoring is annoying!"

"Manny? Wtf! Let me sleep!" I yelled

"You snore to loudly!" He groaned

"You can either deal like a big boy or cry and find a place to sleep!"

"Ugh! Fine." He went back up to his room and I had to try and sleep all over again. CRASH!!

I sat up straight, wide awake now. I looked up towards Mannys room.

"M-Manny?" No answer. I slowly and quietly got up and grabbed my knife. This knife could cut through ANYTHING. Including demons, monsters, humans, steel, a whale, anything. Its mostly meant to kill demons though, if I cut them, then of course, they lose a body part, which they can grow back either quickly or slowly, depends where you cut. I went up the stairs, the glow of the blue knife lighting my path.

I got to Mannys door and got ready to attack. I flung it open and looked around. I couldn't see much so I found the light and turned it on, there, was the window broken. I went up looked out the window, I looked up, down, and sideways.

I went back inside. And heard a creak. I turned around quickly, only to see Manny peeking his head out, looking scared as fuck. I looked confused and went towards him slowly. "T-Toby. Its in here.."

"Where?"

"I d-don't know. It just crashed through my window as I was getting clothes for tomorrow and I quickly hid in my closet. I p-peeked out and saw the m-monster looking around for something. But I didn't know what. And then it just, ran out of my r-room."

"Hm. What did this monster look like?"
