Chapter Eight
Maryam's POV
\\\Three months Later///
I woke up early and prepared Aunty's favorite. Ever since the day Daddy talked to me about helping her overcome her hatred towards me, I've been trying my best to always make her happy.
Though, sometimes she get angry and say some mean words to me but I never took any to heart.
I cooked her favorite and smiled proudly, I'm definitely improving in my cooking skills these days. I set the food on the dinning table before I sauntered up to their room. I twist the knob and open the door gently. I peeped and they're still not awake, they both seem to slump into a deep sleep.
"Daddy" I whispered in his ear, he smiled and turn to the other side.
"Oh no!" I thought face palming my self.
"Daddy" I whispered and shook him a little. I really don't want to wake her up.
He opened his eyes. "Maryam?". He asked confused.
"Yes Daddy" I replied smiling.
"You...you're here? What are you doing here?". He whispered.
"I prepared her favorite " I whispered back.
"You did?" He asked and I nod.
"Okay... so, should I wake her up?"
"No! Daddy. Can you please go out for some minute? I'll bring it here"
"You sure about that? Are you sure you can do this alone?"
"Yes Daddy"
"Alright then" he stands up and we both leave the room.

"Aunty" I shook her gently.
"Jawad, I need a peaceful sleep please" she said smiling.
What's wrong with the both of them? First daddy and now, She?
"Aunty, it's me Maryam. Can you please open your eyes?"
"Maryam?" She asked as she opens her eyes.
"Good morning Aunty" I said smiling at her.
"Morning, what are you doing here?"
Did she just answer me? Oh my God!
"I....I prepared you your favorite". I stuttered, afraid of her rejection.
"You did?! Where's it then?"
I had kept it on her night stand, so I got up and brought it to her. She smiled as she inhales the aroma.
"Wow! Did you cook this?"
"Yes Aunty". I answered proudly.
"Maryam, take a sit" she sounds serious, and I did as I was told.
Then she started "First, I won't ask for a forgiveness from you but I truly appreciate all what you've been doing for the past few months. I hate you, not because of you but because of your father and mother, I know, I did so many things to you ever since you've been living with us. But, I'm nice to you now doesn't mean I like you...I hope we're clear?"
"Your father did really hurt me a lot"
"That's why I'm trying to make you happy"
"Maryam, you can't do that! It's not your place. You can never make me happy! Your father had caused me so much pain, it will be very hard to forget. Though, I might have forgiven him but I can never forget what he's done"
