Chapter Twenty Six

Khalid's POV

I've been working non stop for the past three weeks and today I'm totally tired, I slump my self on my bed immediately I entered my room,putting my phone in silent I drift off to sleep

I wake up to check the time only to find 8 missed calls from Maryam

Why would she call me this much?Definitely there must be something going on, I was about to dial her number when she finally called again

"Hey beautiful " I said immediately I picked up

"Khalid please save me" she said with shaky voice while crying

"Please save me Khalid I...I don't know what Kareem is up to... Please save me I-" she didn't finish what she was about to tell me as everything went silent

I sit up straight and dial the number again but was switched off,what could Kareem have done this time around? I won't spare him I swear, with annoyance in me I get up and put on my cloth,picked up my car key and went out of my room

"Hey son where are you going to?" Mom asked me

"Mom something came up I have to go now"

"Something came up? Like at work? This is 10:00pm already Khalid!"

"Mom it not about my work...."

"Then it about what? Don't tell me this is about Maryam again? Khalid can't you see? That girl is married to your friend! Best friend already!" She said sounding disappointed

"Mom please don't get mad! Maryam she called me just now telling me to save her from Kareem I don't know what's happening?"

"Innalillahi.....then what are you standing there for? go quickly" mom said I kissed her cheek and rush out of the room before entering my car and drove off with full speed

Kareem's POV

I entered her room and start rummaging everywhere,I really need to clear my doubt

I went straight to her closet in search of the cloth,fortunately for me and unfortunately for her I saw the cloth kept neatly right there in her closet. I took it out in bewilderment, I wasn't lying when I said she's the one I saw,she's really the one. I then turn as I saw her looking at me with that damn beautiful face. Concentrate Kareem this is not the time for that,she deceived you remember?

"This is it! This is the cloth! MARYAM!! How could you do this to me! You really are so cunning, wasn't this the dress you were putting on this evening? Then immediately you reach home you pull it off and placed it neatly here right?"

"Ka...kareem that dress....that dress-" she started stuttering. I won't buy your lies Maryam. The only thing that can save you is for you to tell me the truth

"Yes the dress....." I inquires

"The dress...the dress..was...was...." She kept stuttering without finding the right word

"Talk to me woman,or else you won't like the other side of me!"

"It was.....it was....was ...was....was..."
