"Okay, so Poseidon had seven children of the sea, originally." Nexee was in deep concentration as she swam back and forth at the edge of our small cliff, away from the bright and lively city. Corry was sitting with his arms crossed in a stiff stance, looking like the very warrior he was trained to be, and stood next to Elian. Elian sat next to me with a relaxed composure and charming smile. Buboo, unfortunately, had something they call inaytu, which is basically school on behavior and history (which just goes to show that you can't escape school no matter where you are, land or sea). I was sitting cross-legged with a slight slouch as I continued to pay attention to Nexee and her teachings on Poseidon and his man whore-ish ways. She turns towards me with a far-away gazed look, "He got around. Quite a bit, actually."

Elian nudges me lightly with his elbow and his striking blues meet mine, "Twelve wives, thirty mistresses, and hundreds of flings." My eyes widened and I turned back to Nexee as she shrugged with a 'well, what can we do about it now' look.

She clapped her hands and continued, "Right, well that's how our Creator was so that is that. Anyway, he had children with different creatures that caused different species that mixed with other species and such. That all led to different creatures being made depending on which gene of the parent was the strongest. Siren's," she gestures to Elian, Corry, and her, "for example, were created first. We were a product of him and the Goddess of the Water Nymphs, Caaniope. Just as Poseidon, she got around, and thus we just kept on multiplying. That's how it is for most of the Kingdoms, including the mermaids."

I raised my hand as if I was in the classroom and Elian chuckles softly towards me as Nexee points to me dramatically with a smile, "Yes! Creature of the land!"

I smile and raise a brow, "What's the difference between a Siren and a Mermaid?"

Nexee nodded with a proud look, "Good question! And it's actually really simple to explain, actually. Mermaids sing and nothing happens but Siren's can actually make you do whatever they want by spitting a few bars here and there. Plus, they have tails and we don't." I nodded as I looked at Elian and Nexee carefully before meeting a pair of mischievous golden eyes. Corry was sporting a wide smirk as he stood looking at me. I can feel a slight shiver go through my body as I turned away from him and back towards Nexee.

"Poseidon had various amounts of children with different creatures, however, it's the specific top seven that affected the way things are ruled in the sea. The top seven children he had are the ones that hold up the strong genes," she sends a big wink towards Elian and faces me again with the same smirk as her brother. "For example, a siren can co-create with a human but the siren gene will be stronger thus the offspring will be siren ninety-nine percent of the time."

I turn towards Elian with a contradicting blush and smirk as I watch his birthings glow their golden yellow. Elian smiles at me shyly and gives me a small wave, which I smile at with a small chuckle. And at a sense of shyness, I faced Nexee once again with a small satisfied smile, " So to name off, Poseidon had five other top kids. Lillian is the daughter of him and the Goddess of the Dark, Enya. That created the Estiopees which are basically us but with fins and night vision. The Mermaids were created by him and the Goddess of the Fish herself, Mere. Next was the Iterniope who were offspring of him and Goddess of the Sharks - Seline, which, fun fact, only bare sons regardless of who they mate with. Only sons." She looks away and her eyes grow hazy as she stares off into space, "Very tan, buff, hot, glowing, sexy sons." Corry coughs loudly from the side and Nexee snaps out of it as she looks at us with a gaping face. She looks slightly confused for a second until she hits her head and nods at us mumbling, "Right. Right. The lesson now, hot Iterniope later." She winks at me exaggeratingly and straightens up again.
