Corry groans and moves between, "Look we do not have time for this. We need to go get the scroll that said where the location of the trident or the Kitsuana is."
Elian continues to stare at me, shining in his golden armor, "The Serian Trench."
Corry furrows his brows, "What's at the Serian Trench."
Elian shrugs and looks at him with a sigh, "Not sure. The scroll only said that what we need is at the Serian Trench."
Corry nods and then looks at Elain, "So what's the plan?"
Elian looks at me, "Marina and I will go to the Serian Trench ourselves to retrieve whatever we can, and hopefully be back for the Abnoresca. My father is busy planning for the event so he won't even notice me gone, but regardless I need you to keep me covered. Nexee will keep," he glances at me for a second, "Essiandra busy and distracted. She will be busy with her planning as well." He coughs awkwardly and I raise a brow.
"Why do I need to go with you? Corry would probably be more useful than me."
Elain seemed to know that answer way too soon, "Corry is going to be my Beta and Second-in-Command, he goes where I go. If we both just disappear then people will know we left, but if he stays then people will believe I'm here in the kingdom." I shrug and look away.
Corry nods with a look of uncertainty, "As you command, your highness. Are you planning to leave now?" Elian nods and points to two bags hidden in the corner, pulling up his hood.
"All ready and packed," he grabs both bags and hands me one with a tanned-muscled arm. I shake the thoughts that want to begin in my head and grab it, placing it over my shoulder. I grasp it without another glance at him and his stupid gorgeous eyes, just as Nexee calls for me.
She pulls out the little shell necklace and I pull mine out too with a nod. Nexee and I have reached the stage in our friendship where we don't even need to say a word to know what the other wants to ask or say. Corry nods at Elian and pulls something out from his pocket; a sliver pair of hand knives, which he reaches out for me to grab. They look like the miniature version of his big-ass swords. He also hands me a case that seems too big for my wrist and too small for my shoulder; must go around my thighs.
He raises a brow at me with a hushed voice, "Your mother was a well-known warrior. She had a power in her veins that everyone could feel, she was a fighter. Remember that her blood runs through your veins if you ever have to use these. Do you understand, Marina?" I nod and he nods in response. He looks reluctant before he rolls his eyes and places his forehead to mine as a goodbye. He holds the back of my head and I reach a hand over to do the same with my opposite to his. He pulls away, "Don't do anything stupid, land trash." I put the straps and tighten them around my thighs, placing each dagger in its case, one on each side.
I smirk, "Me? Never." I see a hint of a smile in his usual grouchy face as he turns to say his goodbyes to Elian. Nexee pulls up to me and places her forehead to mine just as her brother had done. I accept and return the gesture.
