You walked down the street, you were nervous as hell. You had bought tickets to a person you thought would never talk to you anymore. It had been years since you had spoken. You decided it was time to give that up. And when you listened to his music you could sense his happiness and it made you feel worse. You didn't contribute to that happiness, you only took it away. But that had been years ago.

Joji wouldn't remember you and that almost made you feel strange.

You two dated for a long time and you had kept up with his social media like how every ex does. That's how you discovered his music. He had told you in the relationship how he one day wanted to be a musician, he did some music here and there but nothing huge like how he was doing now.

As you walked into line, waiting to enter the concert, you heard other people talking about how excited they were. And you smiled to yourself, so were you.

Time passed and you all entered the building and you, of course, had front row tickets, because deep down you wanted Joji to notice you, to show you had grown up... you had become a functioning individual. Just like how he said. The lights on the stage turned on, and the music began to play. The person that was opening came on and began to sing.

You tried your best to focus but that didn't work. What were you thinking? You barely moved on, this just proved it.

The opening act ended and then you held your breath. You heard his voice, and you could have cried. He began to sing. Joji was so beautiful in the light. You sang along with him. Time slowed down. You sang, and you cried, and it felt as if you were the only one there.

It didn't feel real when the concert ended. People began to file out, but not you, you stood there. Staring at the stage. Hoping that Joji would come back out and hug you and make you feel alright and everything would be just fine. But...

He never came back out.

You were the last one out. You stared back at the building and watched it. You smiled. Knowing deep down you had to accept Joji wasn't coming back to you and if it was made to happen it would.

But you knew deep down, it wasn't going to happen.
