Chapter 13

Jaren's Pov

I can't believe that just happened. I am currently hanging out with the most popular guys in school. They aren't even hurting me! Well that was mostly just Kinsey but she's gone now! We enter the school. Everyone turns to look at us. I hear murmurs and whispers as we enter. I look down at the floor avoiding any eye contact at all. The day goes by smoothly. No pushes in the halls. No people calling me names. I'm finally somebody! The bell rings for lunch. I stand up and grab up my bag. "Hey Jaren!" John waves over to me, a big smile present on his face. I wave back with a smile. "You gonna join us for lunch?" He asks. "Well duh" I say as we walk out. We reach the lunch table. Some of his friends stop to look at me. "Hey who's this dude?" A tall guy from New Zealand says. "Cameron, this is Jaren. He'll be sitting with us from now on." John says looking over to me. I let out a small nervous laugh. Everyone moves over a seat to let me sit down. I graciously take the seat. We laugh all throughout the lunch making tables look over at us with glares. John leans over to me. "Hey.. you wanna come over after school? We could hang out, maybe play some video games?" Hey asks me. "Y-yeah sure! Sounds great!" I say a little too excited. The bell rings and off to class everyone goes. I get up and rush over to the bathroom. I wash my hands before taking my phone from my back pocket.

K: Yo dude, you wanna meet up sometime?
K: Maybe face to face?

I don't reply. Maybe someday we'll know each other Kryoz. But I'm too much of a pussy to reveal who I am. "Hey you coming?" I hear from outside the bathroom. "Coming!" I yell back to John.
