John's Pov
I cry out watching them take Jaren away to the hospital. A blanket from who knows where is draped over my shoulders. A hand of a loving mother of three on my shoulder as well. Her kids right behind her. Behind them is a broken car with Jaren's blood on it. The car that hit him. It's driver in handcuffs sitting on the sidewalk. Jaren's phone terribly damaged, it no longer will work. My car more than 10 minutes away. How will I get there? "I can drive you to he hospital if you'd like." The woman answered like a prayer. "Y-yes please." I broke down in the backseat of her car. Her three loving children comforting me. It was interesting to see kids be this caring to a stranger. I take out my phone hoping to find some peace.
K: hey smit, my friend just got hit by a car.. i'm in need of a laugh please.
I waited for Smitty to answer. We finally arrive at the hospital. I rush in to the front desk. "Jaren." I say. "Umhum last name?" She's asks. I think hard. Come on John! Think you dodo! "Smith!" I finally yell out loud. "Room 420." I smile. Jaren would've loved to know what number his room is. Ha. No! Not WOULD'VE! Will. He will love to hear that his room is 420. God John he's not dead.. is he? I look into the window but the doctors push me away. "Sorry sir he's going to need to go straight into surgery. They push us out into the waiting area. Thankfully Amanda and her kids, Kelsey, Devon, and Rebecca, stayed with me. "You can go if you want Amanda." She stands up. Her kids follow after her. "Here." She hands me a paper. "Call if you ever need anything." She smiles and heads out the door. Her youngest, Rebecca, gives me a hug quickly then runs after her mother.
K: hello? smitty?
He never answered back..
