One afternoon
changed my life forever
it's when I saw the moon
across from me and it departed so soon.

Every movement I made
the moon was away from me along the way
alone and rising above the lake
above the lake, always awake.

This is torture
why did the Gods do this to us
this painful border
being close to the moon seems to be a blur.

Every morning
people are happy to see me
but I have a longing
for the moon to be near me and reuniting.

Though I have always known
that the moon sacrifices
for me at night and the light is shown
from the moon repeatedly and again rezone.

My love will last
for the moon at night
time flies by so fast
but our love is strong that one cannot avast.

Inspired by the quote,

"The moon is a loyal companion.
It never leaves. It's always there, watching, steadfast, knowing us in our light and dark moments, changing forever just as we do. Every day it's a different version of itself. Sometimes weak and wan, sometimes strong and full of light. The moon understands what it means to be human.
Uncertain. Alone. Cratered by imperfections."
