Ch1: Introduction

"Ouch dad, please stop" , i scream with pain in my shaking voice as he takes his belt and hit me with it. I start crying too loud that my mother and sister Maria heard my screams from the downstairs. At the mom heads into the room, it was too late. I had already been beaten and can barely move. Mom calls out "John! what are you doing with the poor girl? Can't you get get enough of beating your poor daughters, just because you are stressed out and angry?!" By the time they both argue my sister Maria comes and picks me up quickly before my father continues to express his anger on her too. She whispers in my ears "I know you're hurt, i wish i was in your place so i can't see you like this" She sets me up and takes me to the bathroom while hearing my pain sounds as we walk. When i entered the bathroom to get a nice bath and try to relax a little bit, i noticed new wounds on my thigh that went more blue than the usual. I started crying and hitting my self wishing i could escape from the hell i was living in. This is what I and my sister experience when my father gets angry. My parents Claire and John Stars are two successful people that have a huge company, and make a

lot of money.

We are considered one of the richest families in California, but no one understands that being rich doesn't mean a happy life.
