We walked a few meters until we found a cab.
"Heyo here!" He called, his deep male voice echoing through the empty streets.
"Hello sir," the taxi driver replies. He is an average aged man, his hair was pure white and wore a pair of eyeglasses.
"We need a ride to Erington,"
"Sure mister, let me help you with the bags." he heads towards the bags Maria and I were holding, then looked at me astonished, he had familiar eyes, those green pigments seem to check out my face, the green pigments getting lighter when meeting my gaze.
I started to feel uncomfortable, I entered the car rapidly.
"Are you okay baby?" Trevor asks, the word baby sent electric vibes down my spine, gushing oxytocin in my system.
What is happening to me?
"Everything's fine." I say, trying to ignore the production of sweat glands.
Maria looks at me anxiously and whispers
"What are we going to do? I know i shouldn't have come with you. We have no plan and our money won't last long if we just take and don't compensate. Plus, they might be after us and they have tracked us and maybe on their way here."
Maria just doomed my every rising hope
"You know what? It is my fault that i even woke you up." i said, an angry tone taking over my words just to protrude my point.
"I didn't want to leave you alone, ."
We pulled in a garagea of an old blue painted apartment, I saw the most enchanting landscape I haven't seen in years.
A road dressed with gray pebbles that lead you to the old mammoth wooden door. On the left, a rusted old window lies, above a pot of multi-colored flowers surrounded by tens of bees. On the right, a beehive moves uncontrollably, as if trapped for a million years.
Trevor knocks on the door for what felt like hours,
"Coming" a woman's voice echoes through the 'what seems like empty' house.
After a few seconds, the door opens up to an old, 'fat' woman.
She greeted her son warmly, and turned to us.
I recognize those sky blue eyes, it's just the face that got wrinkled. That warm smile she gave her son, made me feel home again. The old golden ring, shining in her wrinkled hand. It is Trevor's mother.
Joy filled my soul and made me forget the weight of the world for a second, I can't believe that it's her.
Air got stuck in my throat and I ran out of words, what shall I say? Did she recognize me?
"Good morning Mrs. Tuesday." I said,
"Good morning, I suppose you are one of Trevor's girlfriends?"
"I'm Alexa? Can't you remember me?"
Her eyes got filled with tears, joy tears i suppose. "A-Alex!?" She said almost sounding deceived.
"Mom, let's talk inside, we can't make them stand on the door for too long. And by the way, this is Alexa's sister, Maria."
"Come on in,please." She welcomed us
"Please make your selves at home, ignore the mess, I was just cooking for Trevor, but I think the food is enough for all."
I haven't heard a word from Maria after the argument in the car. I suppose she is as creeped out as I am. However, I feel that I am home.
"Her Maria," I whisper,
"Yeah?"
"I'm sorry I kinda bursted on you a while ago in the car." I said apologetically, but not that desperate, trying to keep the monotone in my voice.
"Well, It's nothing," she never admits she's wrong, but her not arguing back is a blessing so i was satisfied.
Trevor lead us to a medium sized room, not too small, but not too large. We placed our bags. The old chandelier rings a bell, I guess this was the room we used to watch tv in. However, no tv was found. I didn't bother my self and get into deep details, knowing that an additional worry will cause my head to burst.
We sat on the bed, and each of Maria and I lost in our thoughts.
Well, personally I can't decide what to feel, I mean, I feel an internal battle inside my mind. Confused between feeling safe, and feeling like I'm going to head home soon, it kind of creeps me out.
"Lunch's ready!" I heard Mrs. tuesday say from downstairs. Trevor passed by our room "Everything's good girls?" He asked concerned.

"Yes, everything's fine." Maria says. I don't know why but i feel that she had developed a connection with him. the way she looks at him is just different than the way she looks at other guys. She had been speechless since she met him, I felt like he ignited flames in her just like the osentatious way of living of the rich ignites the hatred of the poor. Her brown eyes shine when he came over and she sank in her day dream.
