Chapter 24

I pass Jake a part before heading over to the other side of the motorcycle and work on it. Those summers when i came to visit dad, Jake use to teach me a lot about cars and stuff. Which i'm thankful for because sometimes that stuff comes in handy. "If we're going to be working on this everyday, we should probably include some homework. I don't want the dads to think i'm a bad influence on you guys." Bella says looking over at the both of us. Jake scoffs before saying "You Influence me? Please"

"Well i am older then you guys. So that makes me the influencer and you guys the influence." Bella says causing Jake to make a face. "Age ain't nothing but a number. Plus with my size and knowledge base actually make me older then you." Jake says making me laugh. "She convinced you to secretly build two-wheeled death machines for her." I say give Jake a look. Jake lets out a fake gasp and says "Wow, you're right, shes like Satan.." Jake is interrupted by a voice from outside yelling "Yo, Jake, you in there?" Bella stands up quickly and goes to pull the trap over the bikes."Its cool, its just my boys" Jake says calming her down.

Two boys enter the garage and smile over at Jake before stopping and looking over at us. They share a smile and wave. "Hey guys. This is Bella and Becca. Girls this is Quil and Embry." Jake says making me smile and wave at them. I remember them a little bit. Jake used to always tell me these stories and sometimes he would mention their names. "So the bike building story is true." Quil says nudge Embry with his elbow. Bella looks over and gives a slight nod before saying "Taught him everything he knows."

"What about the part where you're his girlfriend?" Quil questions making me giggle softly. "Oh no, we're just friends." Bella says making the guys go crazy. "Ooooo, burn." Embry says causing me to roll my eyes. "I said shes a girl and she was a friend." Jake says sounding nervous. "Embry, do you remember him making that distinction?" Quil questions making Embry shake his head and say "Nope." I roll my eyes once again before jumping in " So you guys have girlfriends? That's cool." Jacob laughs loudly before saying "Right. Quil took his cousin to prom" Causing Embry to laugh. "Yeah, that's still a riot. You want funny, black? I'll give you funny." Quil says before runny towards Jake who dodges him and they begin to play fight.

Embry walks over to us and says "I got five bucks on Quil." I giggle before saying "You're on" We all lean back and watch as they continue to fight. I look over at Bella who is laughing. I love seeing her like this. Laughing and having a good time. This is good for her.

"Bella's laughing again. Shes smiling. Everything is better now. I haven't heard her mention anything about you guys. Which is a good thing. I mean i know she'll never forget about you guys, i know i wont. I don't ever wanna forget about you guys. I sometimes think you guys forgot about us, which is fine. You guys should be able to move on just like us. I just wish you...."

I stop typing and look away from the laptop when i hear Bella screaming. I jump out of my seat and run to her room. I run in and shake her awake. Her eyes open and tears start to fall down her cheeks. "You're alright bells. Everything is okay." She sits up and wraps her arms around me. I hug her tightly and turn my head and smile over at dad, who came running in behind me. "This thing is not doing a very good job is it?" Dad questions while looking at the dream catcher on the wall above Bella's bed. Bella shakes her head, pulling away from me. "Can i ask you a question? Hanging out with Jacob, its helping, isn't it?" Dad asks leaning against the wall. Bella nods and says "A little"

"That good. Hes a good guy." Dad says smiling at her. He tells us goodnight before heading back downstairs. I lay down in Bella's bed beside her and a little while later we both fall asleep.

A couple days later we finally finished the bikes and we were now in the truck on our way somewhere to ride them. "If i told you i couldn't have fixed these bikes, What would you have said?" Jake questions all of a sudden. "Are you doubting your mad skills?" I ask him in a amusing tone. He smiles and says "No.Definitely not. They'll run fine. It's just, maybe if i was smart, i would have have dragged out the rebuild a bit" He says looking down sad. Poor Jake. I frown before looking at Bella, who thinks for a minute and says "If you told me you couldn't fix these bikes, I would say that's really too bad, but that we're just gonna have to find something else to do." Bella says smiling. Jake nods and smiles obviously liking her answer. Awww, They would be so cute together. I look around outside before my eyes stop on something.

"Is that Sam Uley?" I say while leaning forward. Bella and Jake look over to where i'm looking. "Yeah. That's him and his cult." Jake says with a little hate in his voice. I watch as two guys lift up another guy and throw him off the cliff. Bella slams the brakes and jumps out of the car. I follow behind her and we run across the road. "Did you see that?" Bella exclaims when Jacob walks over to us. "Guys, They're not really fighting, They're cliff diving. Scary as hell, but a total rush." I watch as another guy looks back at his friends and smirks before taking a running start and flings himself off the cliff. I roll my eyes, Show off. "Rush?" Bella question watching them. "Well most of us jump from the lower down. We leave the showing off to Sam and his disciples." Jake says crossing his arms. "Do you have some kinda of beef with them or something?" I ask looking over at him. "Oh, no. They just think they run this place. Embry used to call them hall monitors on steroids. Now look at him." Jake says glaring at one of the guys on the cliff. I look over shocked. "That's Embry?What happened to him?" Bella asks shocked.

Jake sighs before saying "He missed some school and all of a sudden he started following Sam around like a little puppy. Same thing with Paul and Jared. Sam keeps giving me this look, like hes waiting for me or something. Its starting to freak me out." I look back over at Sam and the other guys. "Well you should just try to avoid him, okay." Bella says to him sounding worried. He nods and says "I'll try." We all stand there for a little watching them in the water before Bella suggests we should go. I nod and glare at the water once more before i turn around and walk back to the car and get it. Those jerks before stay away from Jake or i swear, they'll have to deal with me.
