Chapter 18

Bella and i head down to the lobby after she finished writing a letter to Edward. I was going to write one to dad but decided against it, i felt if i wrote one i was basically saying that something was gonna happen to us, which nothing was. We were gonna be fine.

We scan the room for Alice and jasper. We finally see them outside loading the car, they also seemed to be in a deep conversation. I pull her over to the opposite door and call for a taxi. We quickly get in and Bella says " 8th and Palo Verde, please." The taxi pulls out and i watch as the hotel disappears away. I grip Bella's hand and bite my lip. Even though walking into this could lead to who knows what, i don't regret anything. I don't regret moving in with dad, I don't regret becoming friends with the Cullen's. I would take nothing back. Nothing. I'm happy with my life.

"Thank you" I say to the taxi driver as Bella and i step out. I look up at the school that we use to come to everyday excited. I mean i never was the best dancer but it never stopped me from loving it. I grab Bella's hand and pull her inside. "Bella? Becca?" We hear a faint sound of mom screaming once we step inside. We cautiously enter the empty, dark room full of mirrors. A Ballet bar wraps around the walls. I place my hand on top of it lightly. "Girls? Where are you?" I hear mom say sounding worried. I whirl around and begin looking for her. Bella grabs my hand and we follow the sound of her voice, which lead us to a cleaning supply closet. I take a deep breathe before throwing open the door, only to see a tv. And on the screen shows a video of Bella and i in the same closet the tv was in now. It was playing a video from our first class, some how Bella ended up running into the closet and i remember running to go find mom.

"Don't you wanna dance baby?" Mom says and we see little Bella shake her head.We then see mom hand the camera to someone else, who i knew was me. "Everyone makes fun of me." Little Bella says looking down. " But you're a wonderful dancer." Mom says putting her hand on Bella's shoulder. "Mom, I suck." I turn around when i hear laughter come from behind us. "That's my favorite part. Stubborn child, weren't you?" James says causing Bella's face to flush with rage. "Shes not here." Bella's says with relief. "Sorry. But you guys really made it too easy." James says now visible in the mirror. He sighs in disappointment and steps up in between us before pointing a video camera at Bella.

"So to make things more entertaining, I'm going to make a little film of our time together. Borrowed this from your house, hope you guys don't mind." James says before turning it on and saying action. All of a sudden Bella throws her purse at him and grabs my hand before running away. "Excellent! An escape attempt." He says before he suddenly shows up in front of us. "It'll break Edwards little heart." He says while touching Bella's hair and throat.I hit his hand away from her. "Edward has nothing to do with this!" Bella says trying to back away from him. "Oh he will. His rage will make for more interesting sport then his feeble attempt to protect you." James says not paying any attention to me."Run!" I yell to Bella while spraying James with the pepper spray i have in my hand. He shakes his head before pushing me back towards the mirrors. My back slams into the mirror, cracking it, and glass flies on me.

"Still stubborn, aren't you? Is that what makes you so special? Because frankly, i don't see it. Too bad he didn't have the strength to turn you. Instead, he kept you this fragile little human. Its cruel really." James says while flipping the camera. He wipes the screen before walking over to Bella and stomps on her shin. I hear her scream and try to get up. I have to help her. I cant just lay here. "Tell Edward how much it hurts. Tell him to avenge you." He says shoving the camera into her face. I crawl over as fast as i can. I stand up and jump onto James back and wrap my arms around his throat. He growls before gripping my arm tight and throws me off. I cry out from the pain in my arm before I go sliding into the mirrors again. When i finally look up i see James on the ground and Edward standing above him. He quickly stands up and forces Edward against the column. "You're alone because you're faster than the others, but not stronger." He smashes Edward's face into the mirror until it cracks. "I'm strong enough to kill you" I hear Edward say flinging James backwards.

I see Edward look from Bella to me and i shake my head before pointing to Bella, hoping he knows he should get Bella out first. He gives me a sad look before running over and picking up Bella, he runs to the exit when suddenly Bella and him are yanked back by James. Bella is knocked out of Edward's arms and onto the ground.I see James fling Edward away before he runs over to Bella. I try to stand up again when i see him grab her hand and sinks his teeth into it. Bella screams when Edward suddenly shows back up. I crawl over to Bella quickly and pull her into my lap. Her eyes are wide open and she is still screaming loud. I look over at Edward and James with tears streaming down my face. Out of nowhere the rest of the Cullen's pop out. Dr. Cullen and Edward run over to me and Bella, who i still have laying in my lap. Dr. Cullen immediately starts handling her wounds. I apply pressure to the gash on her thigh like he told me to. "Shes losing too much blood" Dr. Cullen tells Edward who cant take his eyes away from her. "Its on fire! My hand!" Bella screams writhing in pain "Whats happening to her" I say looking up at them crying.

"Its the venom" Edward says looking at me sadly. "You have to make a choice. Either let the change happen or" Carlisle says before Edward interrupts him. "No!" Alice appears behind him and says "Its going to happen, Edward. I've seen it"
Edward shakes his head and says "It doesn't have to be that way." Carlisle looks over to Alice and says "Alice find me a tourniquet" Alice looks around. I wipe my eyes quickly and rip a part off of my shirt and hand it to him. Alice holds her nose before kneeling down to help Carlisle. "Its burning!" Bella screams again causing me to let out a sob. I should have stopped him. I should have tried harder. " Carlisle, Whats my other option?"

"Tighter, above the knee" Carlisle tell Alice focusing on Bella. Edward gets frustrated "Carlisle" Carlisle sighs before looking over at him "You can try to suck the venom out"

"I... You know i wont be able to stop" Edward says quietly looking over at me. "Then find the will to stop. But choose, she only has minutes left." Carlisle says causing Edward to look down at Bella, who is thrashing around in pain. After awhile Edward grabs Bella's hand, Carlisle grabs my arm and pulls me back a little. "Its okay Bella. Ill make it go away." Edward says before pressing his mouth to her hand and starts to suck the venom out. After a couple minutes Carlisle tries to get Edward to stop. But it seems he cant. "Stop. Her blood is clean, you're killing her." Carlisle says letting go of me and goes over to Edward. I sit there in shock watching Edward who looks kinda scary. There's this look in his eyes that i cant describe. Maybe it was regret, or sadness, or maybe just hunger. I look down at Bella only to see her losing consciousness. I begin to breathe heavily. "Bella. Bella stay with me" I say right as her eyes close fully.
