I sit up in my bed and the first thing I remember is what happened yesterday. Jakob and I actually hugged. It did feel quite relieving. I reach for my contacts and place them in again. I forgot how low my ceiling was and hit my head when I stood up. Luckily, no one saw that. I rubbed the side of my head to decrease the pain while looking through my drawers to find decent clothing to wear. I took out a brown tee, a dark green jacket, an orange and yellow scarf, and a pair of jeans and put them on. I wrapped the scarf around my neck and tucked it in my jacket. Aunt Mallory was asleep on the recliner so I gingerly made my way through the house.
I closed the door behind me and walked down the steps away from my home. I checked my phone to see if me and Jakob knew where we were meeting today. Scrolling through recent texts, I found a text saying to meet at the park. I pressed the small button on my phone and the screen changed to pure black. As I slid my phone into my pocket, I turned around and headed towards the local park. I searched the grounds to find a brown and grey hyena anywhere but failed. I kept walking around different locations of the park until I finally saw him waiting at a street light.
"Hey umm how long have yo-" he cut me off and gave me a hug, but tighter than the last, "...been here?" I asked and just patted his back.
"At least 18 minutes." he responded and released me from the firm hug. He wore a greyish-silver jacket with dark blue pants. I took my scarf off and tossed it at him, "You've been out here for a while, wear that." I say and sit on the bench.
"Oh okay thanks, Jack." he replied and put it on without questioning.
I smile and scooted over so he had room on the bench, patting my palm against the wood. He sat down after wrapping the colorful cloth onto his neck.
"Should we go for a walk or nah?" I ask and scratch then back of my head. He nods his head in agreement and we stand up. We both walked through the park as the periwinkle sky became darker.
The sky became completely black so I searched through my pocket and turned flash mode on, shining my phone across the trail. The street lights finally kicked in and shone their orange and blue lights on the sidewalks. "I think it's time for us toooo go." Jakob said looking around the park to see no one but them in the dark grass.
"Yes, agreed." I say before turning around and heading towards the exit. "We stayed wayyy too long." I add and look around especially towards the woods. The woods always gave me an uneasy chill. Like someone's watching you, but you can never be so sure. The world isn't what you think it is. Many fucked up furs on this planet.
While just thinking about it, I became even more paranoid of my surroundings. I slowed down and kept watching the woods. I felt someone touch my shoulder and I turned around as quick as I could and held my phone tightly ready to punch anyone. When I shone my light I only saw Jakob.
"Fuck you, you scared the literal shit out of me!" I say and sigh with relief.
He laughed, "Well you just kept walking, leaving me, so I sped up trying to keep pace." he said and finally stopped laughing. "So its not my fault." he added and crossed the entrance to the park.
"Well still, I could've legit punched you in your stomache." I say and shake my head. Thank god it was only him.
"I'll keep that in mind then." said Jakob walking across the road towards the sidewalk.
______________________________________________Okay, I fear the dark like a mother...fucker. I can't do it. If someone asked me to go out to their car for them I would bring a heavy duty flashlight with me. And...I'm blind as hell in the dark, I look like the people from fucking Don't Breathe when they were in the basement. Well, it's not the dark that I fear, it's what lurks in it. Aaaaanywho, enjoy and see ya!
