It was really quiet in the living room, way too quiet. The only noise was breathing and the show on the television. Aunt Mallory is usually always a talkative type, but not at this moment....for some reason. She made a face like she was going to say something but her mouth resisted the words to come out. And my stomach sank back towards my spine, I knew what she was trying to say. She found out. But how? I've never told her anything or dropped hints. I don't even know how she'll react. But, I'm ready for it.

"Yesterday, I received a letter that was meant for you. From someone named Jakob? Asking you out on a date. Why haven't you told me you were gay?" she said, spilling out everything all at once. I just sat there. Are you kidding me? A note? I wasn't planning to come out to Mallory so soon but now....I have no choice.

I lowered my ears in embarrassment and answered with, "I never actually intended to date him but yes.....I'm gay."

"And you've never told me? I'm okay with you liking guys," she responded and put a hand on my shoulder, "besides, you should give this Jakob a chance."

I nod and sit back, "I'm so glad you're not a homophobic." I say and sit back up, "If you were, I don't what would've happened." I add.

Mallory just gave a small chuckle, "Yeah, you're a lucky one, Jack." she said and then went serious, "But don't even think about fucking in this house. You won't have a dick to fuck ANYONE with if I find out you did, Jack. And you know me, I don't lie." she added, her voice firm. I nod, "I don't plan on doing it Aunt Mallory, it's all a...okay." I tell her.

"Still..." Mallory said and yawned. "Welp, I'm going to sleep. Keep the volume down, will ya." she said, not a question.

I nod again and set the remote down, heading upstairs. I plopped all my weight down onto my bed and placed the plate of sushi down on my chest. Eating piece by piece, I checked my phone, "7:00". Good, 'bout time to rest. I tip-toed downstairs and put the empty plate into the sink, trying to stay as quiet as possible. I trotted back to my room and closed the door. I plopped back onto the bed again and moved my hair out of the way to see. I took my contacts out and set them aside, placing them into their container. I glanced out of the window only to see darkness and fuzziness. Eventually, I closed my eyes and went to sleep. Tomorrow's gonna be tough.
