After going through duty free, I sat down in the waiting area by my gate, waiting to board. As I sat down my phone started to ring, it was Joe. I answered it as fast as I could.

J: Hey, just letting you know that I'm home.
D: Good, you're all safe.
J: Of course I am. I'm making sure I'm here for you when you get back.
D: Awh, brilliant. I can't wait.
J: Hold on... I'll make it a FaceTime so I can see you.

I heard Joe tap his screen a few times then his face appeared in my screen. I answered it and smiled.

"Good. Right, you told me to remind you so can you text through the contact details for your landlord? I don't think I'll be able to cancel the contract without you but I'll give it a go." He shrugged.

"Okay, I'll send that through as soon as we finish this call. And it will be worth a try." I smiled.

"Alright, do you want me to start packing up everything in your flat?"

"Sure. You've got a key, haven't you?"

"Yep, always have." He grinned cheekily. I rolled my eyes playfully

"Okay, good. Anyway, you should probably go to sleep, it's still quite a while to the morning. Get some sleep."

"But I wanna talk to you." He pouted as he walked up the stairs to his bedroom. "I'm not even tired, Di."

"I bet you are." I chuckled.

"Well I'm not hanging up. And you're too nice to hang up on me." He dropped his phone onto the bed. "I'm just getting changed."

Once he picked up his phone, I could see that he was now in bed.

"Okay, if I fall asleep, you can hang up."

"Thanks." I laughed.

"Are you gonna call me as soon as you land?" He mumbled sleepily. He looked adorable.

"Yep. And probably when I get to my parents house too."

"Ooh two calls in one day!" He laughed.

"Yep. There will probably be more than that Cos I'll miss you so much."

"I miss you already, Di. It's not even been an hour." He sighed.

"I miss you too. But I'm gone for 8 days. I'll be back before you know it." I tried to reassure him.

"I love you..." He mumbled sleepily.

"I love you too, Joe." I smiled softly as I watched him. His eyes closed and he looked so relaxed. "I'll call you sometime tomorrow, night, Joe."

I smiled and quickly screenshotted before ending the call.

It sounded creepy that I screenshotted it but he looked so adorable. His hair was all messy, he was sleepy and it's just so beautiful, how could I ignore the opportunity to have a permanent picture of him like that. Especially as I was about to fly to the other side of the world and not see him for over a week.

I made sure that I ended it then sent through the information for my landlord then started scrolling through my social media. Before I knew it, my gate had opened and boarding had started. I found my passport and boarding pass before going to the gate. I was let through and I made my way onto the plane.

I found my seat and got comfortable before getting my phone out. I thought I'd text my parents to let them know I was about to take off.

To Mum: Hey mum, just about to take off so I will see you this time tomorrow. Love you. D x

I decided to text Joe one more time before I couldn't use my phone for a while.

To Joe: Hey, I've just boarded the plane and sent through those contact details. I'll call you once I land to get my connecting flight which we'd both forgotten about 😂 I'll see you soon, handsome. I love you. D xx

I left my phone on right until takeoff but he must of been asleep because he didn't reply. Once my phone was switched off, I plugged the headphones that Joe had given me into the slot and chose a movie.

-12 hours later-

The plane had landed in Singapore so I got off the plane, collected my bags and made my way to check in for my next flight.

Once myself and my bag was checked in, I went through duty free before sitting down at my gate. I turned on my phone to see a couple of notifications.

From Mum: Okay, love. Have a safe flight and see you soon xx
From Joe: Thank you for those contact details. And I can't believe we both forgot about your connecting flight. Haha. Call me when you land there. I love you too, beautiful xxx

I went straight onto FaceTime and called him straightaway. Within a couple of rings, he picked up.

"Hey!" Joe grinned.

"Hey." I smiled to him.

"I miss you like mad already..." He sighed.

"And I miss you too. So much." I sighed too. He smiled softly.

"So what time is it over there?" Joe asked.

"It's quarter to one in the morning. 8 hours ahead here. So it's quarter to five back there with you?" I answered.

"Yep. Nearly six. Did you get much sleep on the plane?" He asked.

"A couple hours. But there's always someone talking on these flights. You know what I'm like. I can't fall asleep for long when there's people talking."

"I know. You're a bloody nightmare." He chuckled. "How long till your connection?"

"Couple of hours yet." I sighed.

"I'm sure you'll find something to do. If not, find somewhere quiet and have a kip." He shrugged.

"Kip? What on earth is a kip?" I frowned.

"Oh yeah. You're not English... it's means nap... or sleep. Kip." He laughed.

"I might just do that. This airport is massive so I'll find somewhere quiet." I grinned.

"We just don't go looking for a quiet place, get lost and miss your flight. That would be a nightmare." He told me.

"Well it's pretty quiet round here. And I'm right outside the entrance to my gate. I could try to 'kip' here." I said as I used quotation marks.

"Okay. You're probably really jet lagged right now. So text me when you're on the plane and then call when you land with your parents."

"I will." I smiled softly. He smiled back and stared at me. "What?" I giggled nervously.

"Nothing..." he mumbled as he continued to stare.

"Joe? What is it?" I was getting worried.

"I'm just admiring how beautiful you are. I can't wait for you to be back here so I can hold you and admire your gorgeousness in person..." he said casually. He was such a smooth talker.

"Stop... you're making me blush!" I laughed
