Garroth's POV
"Up! Up! Up! It Christmas! Get up!"
Laurance and I both groan as Caleb bursts into the room and begins jumping on the bed, shouting his lungs out. I reluctantly sit up, Laurance's arms falling from around me, and grab the little jumping bean.
"Caleb, let everyone wake up first, okay?"
"But Christmas!"
Laurance sits up, too.
"Why don't you go check and see if Santa ate your cookies?" he suggests and Caleb's baby blue eyes gleam with joy.
"Yeah! I go do that! You get up!"
And he scrambles out of my arms to race out of the room. Laurance chuckles and gets up himself.
"Come on. If we don't hurry, he'll get into the presents."
I rub my eyes and yawn: "Good point. Well, at least I'm awake now."
"Yeah. Mind if I steal a shirt? Kind of don't wanna walk all the way to my room."
"Sure, go ahead. Grab me one, too?"
He nods and digs around in my dresser, throwing a random long sleeve, blue and white striped shirt at me on the bed. I quickly change while his back is still turned. He pulls out a grey, short sleeve and shuts the dresser drawer.
Without a care, he takes off his black tank to right in front of me to change into the grey shirt. Heat rushes instantly to my cheeks and I quickly avert my eyes from staring too long at his chiseled abs and muscles.
"Problem, Garroth?" he asks and I hear the smirk in his teasing tone.

"N-No. I-I'm fine."
"You sure? Your face looks like a blonde tomato."
"Yes! I'm sure! Just change!"
He chuckles again: "Alright, I'm done. You can look now."
I sheepishly glance up and breathe a sigh of relief when I see his shirt on. I'm still blushing like a maniac.
"I-"
"-hate me. I know," he interrupts, walking over and briefly running his hands through my messy bed hair. My eyes close, relaxed by the feeling of his hands against my scalp. I absentmindedly lean into him.
"Breakfast is ready! Hurry up before Caleb rips apart the whole apartment!"
"Santa ate cookies! Come see!"
Laurance stops playing with my hair and I open my eyes again. He sighs dramatically and heads to the door. I follow.
"Morning, nerds," Cadenza greets once we emerge from the room. Caleb's running all over the place and bouncing off walls.
"I want presents!" he chants, repeatedly. Taco scurries around him, yelping with excitement.
"Caleb, come eat breakfast. Then, you can get your presents."
He races over and Laurance picks him up to sit him on one of the bar stools. He immediately digs in. Taco waits patiently below him for the inevitable dropped food.
Breakfast doesn't last very long and soon we're all sitting around the fake tree. We didn't wanna waste money on buying a real one and Caleb is too excited to notice the difference.
We let Caleb tear into his presents (with help from Taco) while we do our own thing nearby. Cadenza opens her first present from me and immediately smiles and hugs me.
