Laurance's POV

Two weeks.

It's been two weeks since we've been back.

Things have been going back to normal. No one's really pestering me about being back anymore, thank Irene, but everything's just been a little...different.

Like, when the heck did Garroth get so friendly with everyone?!

I mean, sure, we've all known each other for years, but Garroth always used to hang out with me more than anybody else on the street.

He was this sweet, little introvert who needed me to save him from social situations.

Now, he can shout across the street at somebody without even breaking out in a blush.

Why is his blush so rare now?!

I guess I didn't really think about how me being away for two years would affect his social life...

"Laurance, if you continue with the pacing, you're gonna wear down the carpet."

Aphmau giggles as I turn to throw a glare at her fiance. Aaron smirks back at me with an amused glint in his eye.

"It's not funny!" I pout, defensively, still pacing, but just to spite Aaron.

"It's hilariously adorable." Aphmau grins. "You've always been the jealous one, Laurance."

"Have not!"

"Have too!"

"Have not!"

"Have too!"

"Have--" I sigh. "Fine. Have too, but that's not the point."

"Oh?" Aaron leans forward, resting his arms on his legs. They're watching my mental panic from the couch. "How so?"

"Be...because he's...he's not..." I frown. "It's not jealousy! I just...I crave attention..."

"Then, go hang out with Dante and Travis."

"...They're not Garroth..."

"So, you just crave Garroth's attention." Aphmau smirks.

"Shut up."

The couple snickers at me and I just stick my tongue out at them. Aaron stands up, dusting off his jeans.

"Well, I'll let you two continue discussing this insanity. In the meantime, I need a shower." He leans down to kiss Aphmau. "Don't forget about our date tonight, babe."

"I won't." Aph giggles. "I'll take care of this dork, don't worry."

"I'm standing right here."

"I know. That's why I said it."

I roll my eyes.

"Alright. Good luck, Laurance."

"Yeah, whatever."

He heads up the stairs and I sigh, flopping into his spot on the couch.

"At least he doesn't forget a dinner date," I grumble. Aphmau ruffles my hair.

"He probably didn't mean to, Laurance. You know how Garroth can be..." I glance at her as she smiles. "...Scatterbrained."

I snort: "Yeah...I guess. But still..."

"Have you talked to him about it?"

"...I don't wanna make it a big deal. I know I'm overreacting."

"It's not 'overreacting', it's 'falling in love'."

"Heh. You and I both know I'm not just falling anymore, Aph."
