7:00 am. The ringing of an alarm startled her awake. Nina felt more energised than she usually would and found herself jumping out of bed the second her eyes seemed to open. As Nina showered, dressed and brushed her teeth she wondered whether Community Service would be as eventful as it had been the previous day.
"Bloody Hell, you got ready quickly," Her mum commented as Nina walked into the kitchen and opened up the fridge, "Did you get up before your alarm?"
"No," Nina responded confused, "What do you mean?"
"Just normally late is all, nice to see you up early." Her mum smiled, pouring newly boiled water into a mug and letting the aroma of freshly brewed tea fill the room.
Nina chugged some milk and grabbed an apple before collecting the rest of her things, kissing her mum and brother on the cheek before she left.
7:05 am. Nina's second alarm rang from her phone that was shoved in her pocket. 'What? That can't be right? It didn't take me five minutes to get ready and leave,' She switched off her alarm and double checked her phone, 'Maybe I set my first alarm earlier than I thought?' She shrugged it off, making her way to the Community Centre and sitting outside on a metal railing to make a start on a new book she had picked up called 'Way of the Peaceful Warrior' by Dan Millman.
She hadn't been at the Centre for less than two minutes before everyone else started to show up and argue about the new graffiti that painted the walls boldly in front of them.
"It wasn't me." Kelly argued.
"I'll tell ya who did it, it's that Banksy prick," Nathan started, cigarette in hand, "There's a hidden meaning, it's like that monkey policemen with a banana and a Tesco's bag." Nina smirked, finding it hard not to be amused by the stuff he came out with.
"Maybe someone wants to kill us." Simon said nervously.
"And why would anybody want to kill us?" Kelly responded. Nina marked the page where she was up to and hopped down from her position just in front of Nathan who had been on his way to most likely annoy or tease her.
"You made it on time did you Curls?" He commented as the Probation Officer attempted to round everyone up.
"You noticed?" Nina gave Nathan a look of pretend shock with an audible fake gasp.
"Have you seen this? Someone's taking the piss." Curtis commented, clearly outraged.
"Yeah, it's terrible, isn't it? All this anti-social behaviour." The Probation Worker responded sarcastically.
"Is he having a dig at us?" Nathan spoke with the end of his cigarette still in between his lips which he proceeded to light.
A phone rang, only once, but apparently only once was enough to send the probation worker into meltdown, "Right! That's it. All of you, just give me your phones. No-one's making any more calls today. Now, come on!"
"Are you allowed to take our phones?"
Yes. Apparently, he was, as he collectively went round the entire group and took any form of the mobile device off of them, no matter how much they complained.
Nina sighed, handing over her phone and immediately starting off in the direction of the lockers to get changed, watching Nathan smack Curtis on the backside and hearing Kelly call the probation worker a 'wanker' just as she entered the building.
"Morning Simon." Nina smiled, swatting away a fly in the locker room. He nervously gave her a 'Morning' back as they opened up their lockers.
Nina chose the other end of the room to change clothes in, away from the boys possibly perving eyes, re-emerging once she was clad in her orange jumpsuit.
