A Decision To Be Made

[DAMIAN'S POV]

Here it goes...

Me: This morning, I received a message from father saying that they've gotten some new information about the Secret Society, and he wants me to be at the Batcave by 12p.m.. We're going to the Watch Tower to discuss the plan with the rest of the League.

Jon: Huh... (keeping his drink on the table) So that's why my dad has been called to the Watch Tower... They're having a meeting to discuss the Second Attack... Great... (sigh)

Me: Yeah.... So, here's my question. I respect Mr Kent's wishes on keeping you and your mother save by sending the both of you to Wayne Enterprise. But what do you really want to do Jon.? Stay under Wayne Enterprise? Or help defeat some bad guys..

Jon didn't seem to happy about my question. He had a frown on his face and his eyes were staring at the table.

Me: Like I said before, no-

Jon: Well for one thing, I am very sure on making my mother stay beneath Wayne Enterprise. But Me? (Sigh) Honestly, I wanna, help.... But, I've promised my dad to stay out of it.

Me: I understand. Truly I do. A part of you doesn't want to disobey his wishes. And another part of you wants to join in the fight because you think you'll be helpful. But at the same time, you're afraid if you ignored his wishes, you'll just make things worse for him, the others, and for yourself. Yes?

Jon closed his eyes and leaned his back on the chair. He took a deep breath and opened his eyes. Tears begin to well up in those blue eyes.

Jon: Y-yes. (voice cracked)

Me: (sigh) Actually, it got me thinking. I don't know why Mr Kent thinks of you as a fragile glass. I mean, I know he's a parent and all but come on... He's not just any regular parent, he's Superman.... and you're his son.... Sure your DNA is half human, but you still have all of Superman's powers. Flight,
