Chapter 9

[stephs p.o.v]

I woke up to the most annoying sound ever, my alarm clock. I waited in bed for five more minutes, debating wether or not to go to school. I reluctantly got up and got dressed, applied some make up and did finished my normal morning routine before carefully making my way downstairs.

My mom was in the kitchen with my dad and smiled when I walked in. 'Morning hun, are you sure your okay to go in today?', she asked concerned. 'Yeah, if I take it easy I should be fine', I laughed. 'I heard about this Zac guy, he seems really nice. I'll have to meet him soon', my dad said kissing my mom and me goodbye. 'Yeah, I'm sure he'd love that', I said before he smiled and left for work. I wonder if Zac and I are going to fast in the relationship. I wouldn't know considering I've never had a boyfriend. Love at first sight is a little clíche, but I honestly fell for him as soon as I saw him. The feeling I get when I see Zac is indescribable, I can't form the right words. 'Thats what love does', my conscience added.

I ate my cereal, curled my hair and grabbed my bag before I picked up my phone. Suddenly my phone started ringing and it was Zac. 'Hi Zac', I answered, smiling like an idiot. 'Hey babe, I was wondering if you wanted me to pick you up?', he asked. 'Yeah that would be great!, thank you', I added. 'Ill be there in five minutes', he said and I could tell he was smiling as he said it. When we ended the call I told my mom Zac was picking me up and soon enough he was here.

{Zacs p.o.v}

I walked up Stephs driveway and found myself smiling as I reached her door. I really love Steph, I know it's early on in the relationship but I can't picture my life without her. I knocked on her door and within seconds she answered it with a smile on her face. 'You ready?', I smiled back. 'Sure am!', she said leaving and making her way to the passenger seat. 'Ah ah ah', I waved my finger before rushing over and opening the door for her. 'Such a gentleman', she giggled before carefully making her way in my car. When we got to the school people gave me death looks as I walked down the hall with Steph by my side

{Zacs p.o.v}

'Why are they staring at us?', Steph whispered as we walked by the quiet yet filled hallway. 'I don't know', I said back, looking at people before they looked away. I honestly don't know what's wrong. My confusion ended when my best friend Flash (Jessie) came up to me, avoiding eye contact with the others watching us. Just as Flash came up Steph said she saw Zoey and left seconds after. 'Dude what's wrong with everyone?', I asked as we finished walking by everyone. 'Its because of you and Steph', he said looking around making sure nobody was looking. 'What? What about us?', I asked confused. 'You and Beth were like a thing, now that you've broken up, everyone is shocked', he said explaining. I knew we were like an icon but I didn't think this would happen. 'Well why should they care!?', I said getting pissed off. 'Because man, you and Beth are the most popular people in the school, and if you go around dating people like Steph, you'll get frowned on', he said running his hands through his thick, black hair. 'People like Steph?, what's that supposed to mean!? Alright she might be new here and and shy, that doesn't give you the right to say that', I said through gritted teeth. 'Wow man, chill. I'm just telling you how it is, I'm on your side, remember that', Flash said before turning on his heels and walking away from me.

Just as Zac's friend appeared I saw Zoey gesture me to go to her. I hurried over as quick as I could, without hurting my foot, and sat beside her. 'Whats with everyone?', I said looking around. 'Its because Zac and Beth broke up', she said looking at the floor. 'So, what's wrong with that?', I asked, feeling quite stupid. 'Zac is captain of the basketball team, Beth is head cheerleader. They practically fit together. I'm not trying to scare you, but I'd stick with me or Zac from now on, just to be safe. 'Okay, I don't want another run in with Beth', I said forgetting that Zac was the only one that knew. 'What do you mean?', Zoey asked. 'Nothing, I just don't like her that's all', I replied before the bell rang.
