Chapter 10

[stephs p.o.v]

School went pretty fast. I stuck by Zac and Zoey's side, earning a few dirty looks from Beth and others. At least I have Zac and Zoey.

When school ended my Maths teacher said he needed a word with me over something so I waited in the classroom until he came.

'Hello Steph', he said entering the room. 'Hello sir I said looking at him waiting for him to tell me why I'm here. I was told it's his first year being a math teacher. It's crazy to think there's only a few years between us, he is so attractive, but I've no feelings for him, I have Zac and that's all I want.

'So if you don't mind me asking, why am I here sir?', I ask. 'Well Beth said that you have been giving her a rough time lately and I just wanted to sort things out', he simply said. I couldn't believe what he just said. 'Im sorry sir but honestly, I would never do that, ask anyone', I said. 'Well the thing is I did and her friends said so too. Now I don't want us getting off on a bad start with it being your first week here, so I'm going to give you a warning', he said with a reassuring smile. I can't believe this. 'Okay', I answered trying to keep my anger in. 'You are dismissed', he said standing up and opening the door for me. I stood outside and took in a deep breath, trying to get myself together after what had just happened. I can't believe she would make up that lie to get back at me. 'Told you or else', Beth's voice echoed through the empty hallway as I made my way for the door. I turned around with fury in my eyes. 'How could you', I said through gritted teeth. 'I did warn you', she said with a sick smile on her face as she walked over to me. I quickly walked away to leave. 'Watch your back Stephanie', she called after me. I sat on a step outside to calm down but it wasn't working. 'I'm going to stick up for myself!', I thought standing up and making my way back to the door. I looked through the window in the door and what I saw shocked me, making me hide around the wall. Beth was making out with the maths teacher! I knew something wasn't right when he walked in to tell me about her. Surely he can't do that, he's a teacher!

I turned around with fury in my eyes. 'How could you', I said through gritted teeth. 'I did warn you', she said with a sick smile on her face as she walked over to me. I quickly walked away to leave. 'Watch your back Stephanie', she called after me. I sat on a step outside to calm down but it wasn't working. 'I'm going to stick up for myself!', I thought standing up and making my way back to the door. I looked through the window in the door and what I saw shocked me, making me hide around the wall. Beth was making out with the maths teacher! I knew something wasn't right when he walked in to tell me about her. Surely he can't do that, he's a teacher! 'He obviously can', my irritating conscience added. He's at least 20! She only 17! I just think it's weird. Well she's got him on her side, plus all her 'friends' which is nearly the whole school! I have no idea what I'm going to do, I have to tell Zac.

I hurried away from the school, hoping they wouldn't see me, and took out my phone to ring Zac. 'Hi babe! Where are you?', Zac asked. 'Im around the corner from the school. I've important news! Pick me up?', I asked. 'Sure thing, I'll be right there', he said hanging up. Within one minute Zac turned up and I ran to get into his car, not caring about my foot. 'Whats up!?', he asked as soon as I got in the car. 'Take me to my house, I'll tell my mom your staying for a bit and then I'll tell you', I said and Zac started up the car again and drove to my house. When we got to my house I told my mom Zac was here and we ran to my room. We sat on my bed and poor Zac had a terribly worried look on his face. 'Tell me!!', he said not being able to wait any longer. 'Beth has the whole school against us!', I began. 'How do you know? What happened!', he asked. 'The maths teacher said I was giving Beth a rough time, she's got the whole school saying it too and to top it all off, she's got the maths teacher on her side!', I finished. 'Thats bullshit! You've done nothing wrong! How could she do that!? How do you know the maths teacher is on her side?', he asked biting his nails worried. 'I caught him and Beth kissing in the hall', I said. 'What'll we do?', Zac asked.
