UNEDITED
When the alarm rang the next morning, she  felt as if she had just slept a moment ago. She quickly shut it off grumbling to herself, if it would have been any other day, she would have set mlthe alarm on snooze mode, for at least an hour. But she couldn't do it today, as she didn't want to wake the devil Chauhan lying next to her, before leaving the room. She glanced back at him, he was still in the same position, lost in his wonderland. She quickly got up, as quietly as she possibly could, and took out the saree from her bag, kept on one side in the room, before hurrying off to take her bath.

She took a refreshing bath, hurriedly draped her saree, she didn't want to  take any risk - of him waking up before her successful escape. She peeked her head out of the bathroom and saw him still lying in the same position, making her breathe out in relief, as quietly as she could, she entered  the room. With swift moments she tied her hair in a loose braid, wore her bangles and filled the partion of her hair with vermilion - after all this was expected from a newly married bride.

She walked to the door and opened it, only to find a bulky man standing on guard at the entrance, making a small sound of surprise escape her mouth, but she controlled it. Bringing mlher hand to her thumping heart she gave him a deadly glare for making her scared.

"Good morning Ma'am. I am your designated guard." He said with a stoic face. She just gave him a look not wanting to get into any argument so early in the morning. Without giving him a single look she closed the door of the room and took off to the drawing room. Where she knew she'll find Dadu, as she had asked him yesterday about his day-to-day routine.

She entered the drawing room and saw few of the elders of thefamily were enjoying the tea, while the younger generation was nowhere to be seen. She covered her head with the pallu of her saree and at that moment dadu's eyes fell on her.

"Yukti! Good morning beta, come, come." He called her with so much of affection.
Making everyone look at her, she wished them all and started to take their blessings as per there traditions and customs and at last reached Dadu.

He patted my head with amusement shining in his eyes, and whispered quietly so that no one hears him except her. "Don't worry this circus if only for today, from tomorrow onwards live as you want. No more saree pallu's and touching feet." Making a giggle escape from her. His words touched her and she got a bit emotional. In that moment she decided no matter what beef she had with devil Chauhan, but it will never effect her relationship with Dadu.

"Bahu(daughter-in-law), good that you woke up early, as today is your first day you'll have to cook something sweet for everyone, as per our ritual. Come with me, I'll take you to the kitchen." Said one of the many aunties with immense authority. She nodded her head and followed the aunty.

The kitchen was huge, it was nothing short of a dream for a chef, upgraded with all the fancy appliances.

"You can cook anything you want but I would suggest you to make Kheer(rice pudding) as it is Abhimanyu's favourite." She smiled at her politely.

Sanyukta simply nodded her head returning her smile, because an evil idea had popped up in her head, the moment she heard the word Kheer. Well, the devil will get what he likes but with a twist which will suit his image.

The lady kept all the necessary ingredients along with the utensils on the slab, as she was new here and didn't know what was placed where. Giving Sanyukta everything that she need. The older lady wished her good luck and left the kitchen, for her to cook.

It took her over an hour but she did manage to cook amazingly good Kheer. Now all she needed to do was to serve it.

She walked back in the dining room to ask if she should sereve it now or wait for the breakfast to get over.

"You can serve it now, but before that go and wake up that lazy husband of yours, tell him that I am calling him." Dadu said making everyone burst out laughing and the younger generation started there teasing.

She shook her head at them and headed back to the devil's lair. Hoping that he would have woken up by now, she didn't want to face him or moreover have a confrontation with him over his unusual sleeping. Because what she had learned so far from him is that he is not someone who would be easily fooled.

Praying to all the God's she could think of, taking deep breaths, tentatively she opened the door and peeked inside.

By the looks of it he seemed to have woken up for quiet a while, and the sound of opening the door made him look at her. There eyes connected and she could see war brewing in his, making her gulp in fear.

Oh dear! What have I gotten myself into this time.
