'Why don't we just go up to Anthony and ask him, straight up, who's in charge?' Dani suggested the next morning at breakfast.
'And what if he starts choking us like he did the other guy?' Christina said.
'Good point.' Dani admitted, eating a piece of fruit from her bowl.
'We need to get in that club somehow.' Christina thought.
'You want to go in there?' Lauren asked. 'That minute was enough for me.'
'We need to find out who's running the place and they may not be front and centre. We need to know what other rooms that place has.'
'Guys.' Lauren whispered as she saw Anthony coming towards them. They turned and watched his approach.
'I need to talk to you.' He said firmly, worry riddled in his voice. 'Not here, somewhere private.'
'I don't think so.' Christina said. He looked at her and sighed before kneeling beside the table, lowering his voice.
'You need to leave right now.' He said. 'Leave the country, go home.'
'Why?' Lisa asked. He turned to her and his eyes softened.
'They saw you at the club last night.' He looked at Lauren. 'They know you're witches and that you have powers.'
'They want our powers.' Katherine said.
'Yeah, especially the powerful blue energy beam.' He said. 'I'm guessing that was you.' He looked to Christina.
'How did you know that?' Dani asked.
'Sensing. It's one of my abilities.' He said.
'An ability you stole.' Christina said, glaring at him. He ignored her and carried on.
'I knew from the moment I bumped into you that you were witches, powerful ones.'
'So why didn't you tell us to leave sooner?' Katherine wondered.
'Because I didn't think you'd be stupid enough to try and infiltrate the club.' He said. 'I thought you'd just have a nice holiday, maybe I'd go for a drink with a cute witch.' He smiled at Lisa. 'And then you'd go home.'
'You know I won't go out with a demon right?' Lisa said.
'Yeah, which is why I wasn't going to tell you.' He said. 'But now you've exposed yourselves you need to leave.'
'We're not going to leave if they're just going to keep killing witches and wizards.' Christina said.
'Then they are going to kill you.' He said. 'And the rest of you need to keep your powers a secret. So far, they only know about the beam and the projection. They can't sense magic like I can.'
'You know we can't let them keep killing, not now we know about it.' Katherine reiterated. 'You can help us stop them, you're trying to save us so you don't seem like the type of demon who kills for sport.' He sighed.
'You don't know anything about me. I can't help you.' He stood up and left the room.
'That went well.' Amy said.
'Sorry Lisa, I know this must suck.' Dani said.
'Yeah well, like I said to Chris, better I know now.' Lisa sighed. 'We still need a plan, a good one if Chris and Lauren are on their radar.'
'We need to prepare for attacks if they're coming for our powers.' Dani said. 'We need more supplies. Maybe some protection amulets, or athames. I was reading that some athames can channel powers.'
