geoff's phone was suddenly blowing up with messages from his friends. he had told them all he was going to the park, get some fresh air. jawn and otto tried to convince him to let them come along too but he didn't let them. but he never went to the park. he went to the building awsten said he'd jump from. he did leave them a note where he was going, but by the time they would see his post he would already be far too gone to be saved. he had just posted the picture a few minutes ago but his friends kept messaging him with things like,

jawn: where are you??? geoff please

otto: we can't loose another friend, please don't do anything

travis: god what are you doing???

kellin: i'm coming over, i heard your missing

vic: we're going to help you get through this

jack: please

alex: i don't want to loose anyone else

things along that line. a few other people he knew, not very well but knew tried to talk to him over instagram, which was his only social media app but they all went like this,

oliskyes: hey, i saw your post, do you need someone to talk? i've been there too and i know it's not fun

he had decided to disable his account. let his friends be able to see his posts still, just do nothing with them. he set his phone on the ledge of the building, not realizing he had already climbed his way to the top of the old building. he started remembering the talk he had with his now dead boyfriend.

"hey aws?" he asked.
"yeah?"
"how do you really want to die?"
it wasn't a question the blue haired boy was expecting but it was one that made sense. "i guess when i'm in control of it. i don't want to die of old age, no disease or sickness, i'm not suicidal as much anymore. but if i had to pick a way to go i'd jump off a building. i heard those can kill you before the impact, and i'd like to feel the feeling of being surrounded by air and feel it going through my hair as i made my way down. i would still have time to think of you and the guys, too. i think that's the way i really want to die. but i'm not ready for that yet. because now i have a reason to live. you."
the brunette sat there. still trying to collect his thoughts. "which building?"
awsten thought for a moment. "there is this now really old movie theater. I used to sneak out at night and sit on top, knowing i could jump then and there but never did. because i knew i had a future with someone. but i'd jump from there. it's hidden off that blocked off road near mcdonald's."

geoff didn't realize it, but there was tears now running down his face. he pulled down awsten's sweater sleeve and wiped them away, looking at the slight damp mark they left. he breathed out. he was going to die the way awsten really wanted to die. not in a random moment of time, but in control. because he too wanted control over his death. he pulled back the sleeve of the sweater and looked at the promise ring on his left hand. he wanted it to be a real ring. he wanted it to me a reminder that they made it far enough to have their own family. but now, it was a reminder that neither of them would ever get that far into their lives. he kissed the cold ring and closed his eyes. his mind filled up with images of his friends and all the memories they had made over the course of almost a year now. his thoughts were filled with them and his boyfriend, eyes closed, air rushing around him.

"together let's be gloom boys."
