MARISSA'S POV.
Me and Diego are together. Again. And honestly, I'm so happy to be with him. It's crazy to me how now, I'm gonna really have my own little family.
The rest of my family was surprised but really happy when they found out we're together again.
So was Diego's family they like, REALLY love me.
Me, my boyfriend, and our son.
Diego even said he wants to move in with me and Dimples.
BUT I told him I think we should go to a counseling session first.
I know it's not really something people in the hood do like that's white people shit you know?
But I just wanna make sure we are both on the same page and everything is laid out and cleared.
I dropped Alex off at my moms house first and now we are on our way to the place the session is at.
"I really don't wanna go to this shit" Diego whines. "I think it's a good idea" I tell him.
"I should fucking slap Monique for putting this idea in your head" he says.
I smack my lips.
"I already told you I wanna make sure we end up on the same page" I tell him.
"And we can't do that on our own?" He asks.
I look at him and raise my eyebrows.
He looks at me and gets this message.
"Yeah we can't" he says with a small laugh.
We drive to the place and the secretary leads us to go into a room.
It's all white. The couches are black leather with a glass coffee table in the middle.
It looks like a typical therapy room.
"Hi I'm Dr. Jenn" a short blonde lady about mid 30's says coming in.
She looks like one of those cool white girls that have a little bit of gangster inside them.
"Hi I'm Marissa" I say as she shakes my hand. "Nice to meet you" she replies.
"Diego" he says shaking her hand. "Nice to meet you both, let's get started" she says as she sits on the couch across from us.
"So, tell me a little bit about why you are here today" she says.
Me and Diego look at eachother.
I know he ain't gonna say shit.
"Well um, we need to really work on trust, parenting together cause we do have a one year old little boy, and I just wanna make sure me and him are on the same page" I tell her.
"Okay and where do the trust issues come from?" She asks.
"When we were together for one month he got me pregnant, but I didn't find out until 3 months later, I was 17 and still in High school and he was moving to Arizona because his sister, which is my best friend, was going to a
detention center over there, and I wanted him to stay so we had this HUGE argument and he said certain things that i have a hard time getting over, but he left, and I never told him I was pregnant,
I had the baby, still didn't tell him, and once he turned one I decided it was time to tell him, so I did he wanted a DNA test to make sure he was his and he was, and we just started co-parenting,
Him and the baby adored each other, I let him take the baby every weekend, he'd pick him up Friday I'd get him back on Sunday's, but for a month every weekend from Friday through Sunday he drank, partied, spent no time with him, we had a huge about that but then we worked it out and, now we are together" I tell her.
