Thanksgiving here in America came and went. All too quickly it was Christmas Eve. Memory curled her hair with a scowl on her face. She was being forced to wear a dress, courtesy of Gemina. She was just happy about the color, black. Memory put the curling iron down, and unplugged it. Moving to the bed, she grabbed a piece of paper, a pen, and a bobby pin. Sitting on the edge of the bed, she put the bobby pin in her hair. She picked up the pen, and scribbled a note to Emma.

Emma,

Merry Christmas

Hope it's a good one

With lots of Christmas cheer

~Memory

She went downstairs and instantly regretted the decision since Andrew and Gemina were singing Holly Jolly Christmas horribly out of tune.

2.

Emma put on her gown and ran down the hall to Marilynn's throne room. Her chosen family was there waiting for her. The chosen family consisting of Helen, Marilynn, Andrea, Penelope and Arnold. They decided to have some 'fun'. They were picking up Annalise then going to Memory's house.

"You ready," Marilynn asked. Emma nodded.

3.

Annalise was throwing knives at the stone wall in her cave. Sometime over the long years, Marilynn had given her partial immortality. She could only die in combat. Annalise threw another knife.

"Whoa, please tell me you aren't mad at any of us," a voice from behind her stated. She whirled around and nearly screamed. Standing behind her were all her old friends and two unfamiliar ghosts.

"Where's your dress?" Andrea asked. Annalise tilted her head. "It's Christmas Eve!" Annalise's eyes widened.

"It is?" Annalise asked. Everyone nodded.

"We'll take you to get a pretty gown," Emma offered.

Marilynn grinned, "We're not princesses." Emma looked at her like she grew two extra heads.

"Yes we are, and you're a queen."

*

Annalise walked out of the spare room at Marilynn's castle with a light blue dress on, scowling slightly. She couldn't fight in a dress. A sudden ear piercing scream sounded as Emma ran around the room.

"Annalise, you look so pretty!" Emma yelled. At least that's what it sounded like. Annalise couldn't quite tell because of how high the pitch was.

"Yeah, yeah, don't expect this to last child," Annalise replied, strapping a dagger to her waist. "So are we going or no?"

4.

The doorbell was the thing that interrupted the awkward silence of the three angels. That and a crash from upstairs. The crash was explained a second later by Emma running downstairs screaming Merry Christmas and happy holidays. Gemina had guessed that the young ghost had insisted on the trio of angels to have the ability to see her. And got a shock when she saw Marilynn and her royal court, each wearing their best christmas clothing, outside with the snow falling behind them. She did the natural thing, let them inside.

"Merry Christmas Gemina," Marilynn grinned at her, and Gemina figured maybe her earlier guess was wrong. Marilynn had decided without persuasion that the angels should see all important ghosts today. "And this is Annalise I know you haven't met her, but she's family." Gemina blinked as Marilynn gestured towards a redhead with a blue dress that matched her eyes.

"I wasn't aware you had living family," Gemina blinked again, trying to see the family resemblance.

"Metaphorically," Annalise replied. "We went to the same orphanage before Annabelle attacked, and burned the place to the ground." Gemina nodded, remembering the story Marilynn told at her coronation.

"So you're the only survivor of Annabelle's attack? What are you up to now?" Gemina jumped when she heard Memory's voice beside her.

"Oh! Oh! I know! Can I answer? Annalise can I answer?" Emma was curled up in Memory's arms, but proceed to scream like a five year old anyways.

"My ears," Memory grumbled while Annalise laughed.

"Sure Emma, but apologize to your girlfriend first."

"She's not my girlfriend," both Memory and Emma portested,

"Aw, look, they even know what the other is going to say," Andrea cooed. Much to the annoyance to the angel and ghost.

"Children stop making fun of the two, and Marilynn you should behave better. Being the Queen and all that," Penelope scolded. Marilynn pouted.

"But I'm still technically a teenager," she protested.

5.

Dinner was a bit awkward as the majority of the guests were ghosts, and therefore could not eat anything. Out of the people sitting at the table only four of them actually ate something. Three angels turned humans, and one balance/protector/thing. The rest just stared at the food longingly.

"I would ask you if you wanted to open gifts, but we weren't expecting anyone, sorry," Gemina stated. A chorus of it's fines followed.

"We could play a game," Andrew and Annalise suggested.

Memory took a deep breath, "It's time."

"No!" Gemina and Andrew screamed at her. "We are not going to play spin the bottle only to watch you and Emma make out with each other. Seriously just start dating already, you both clearly like each other," Gemina added on as an afterthought. Andrew quickly agreed.

6.

A week later Memory woke with a note from Emma taped to her forehead.

Happy New Years,

Only a few more months to go. Then we could live happily ever after.

~Emma

Memory chuckled. Emma was like a five year old. Although Memory had a feeling that it was because she was hosting all the destroyed spirits living in her head. Memory winced as she recalled how close she was to becoming one of the 'voices' as Emma liked to call them. If it wasn't for the sword being enchanted to only destroy evil and bring out the good, she still wasn't sure how that worked, but angels and guardians use the same weapons as it turned out, she would have.

Memory sighed, "I love you Emma." Her eyes widened as she finally voiced her feelings about the ghost. With eyes still wide she grabbed a pen and turned the paper over.

Happy New Years to you as well. I have something to tell you, but I'm not sure how to say it.

~Memory

Memory placed the note on top of the pillow before stretching and heading downstairs.

"And sleeping beauty awakes!" Andrew shouted upon her arrival. Immediately afterwards he bursts out laughing. Memory rolled her eyes and Gemina hit Andrew on the head.

"Don't tease," Gemina stated glaring.

"Yes ma'am," Andrew saluted before laughing again. Both girls rolled her eyes.

7.

"Five! Four! Three! Two! One! Happy New Years!" The angelic trio screamed. More like Gemina stated, Andrew screamed, and Memory just stared at the tv showing the ball drop in times square. A note fell onto Memory's head making her jump, and let out a startled yelp. That in turn caused Andrew and Gemina to stare. Blushing lightly, Memory grabbed the note from her head. Gemina chuckled when she saw the note, taking a guess on who it's from. Memory glared before reading it.

We'll have to make up for some lost time. I'll give you some time to figure out what you want to tell me. Be ready to share once you get your wings back

~Emma

Or maybe Emma is bipolar. In the morning she was like a five year old. Now, Emma was being serious. Much different than a young child. But that didn't matter to Memory. Memory would love her anyway.
