It was the best sleep I had gotten in years. I didn't even want to open my eyes when I woke up, but I remembered that I am not at my place, which meant that I shouldn't be a burden.
Especially to Jungkook.
I loudly yawned, hoping Jungkook will answer me, and raised up, rubbing my eyes so I could actually see something.
But that definitely wasn't the room I fell asleep in and my little brother wasn't present in my eyes.
I didn't really bother at first, just looked around. The bed I was laying in was slightly smaller than the one I fell asleep in, but it probably could have fitted 3 more people anyway. Room walls were painted with a light pink colour, ground covered with a soft light blue carpet. There stood a closet with small things in there, a desk with few notebooks and pens on it. Floral shiny lamps shined with a dim light from the low ceiling...
That's when my eyes noticed something that didn't look like it belonged to this room. Something completely different, compared to the whole room.
It was something instead of doors, something that looked like prison bars.
At first I didn't think of it as of something significant - that just might have been some kind of strange door, right?
So I got up from the bed and went towards it. I looked up to the stairs behind them and tried to push those bars.
Nothing.
Then I pulled it.
Still nothing.
Then I saw the lock on a side of these bars.
"Jungkook!" I yelled, utterly lost at the situation I was in. Was this a dream? It looked like a dream. A cute princess room with jail bars - that was just not possible.
I pinched myself in a tigh and winced from pain that came with it.
Well, fuck, I thought and layed down on a soft ground, that seemed almost more comfortable than the bed I just got up from.
"Jungkook!" I shouted again, but got no response from any other living soul.
Time flew by. I couldn't really say how much time, because there were no clocks in that room, but it sure seemed like a whole lot.
Finally, I heard the footsteps coming down the stairs. I raised up from the ground instinctively and got closer to the bars. My slender fingers slowly wrapped around horizontal rod impatiently and my eyes shot up, trying to see who was coming down here.
Jungkook.
The sigh of relief left my lungs as I smiled at my brother, who was carrying a white tray, full of something that looked like food, in his hands. Jungkook also had a strange half-smile on his face, that seemed apologetic somehow and was so far from his usual precious bunny smile that I liked so much.
"Good morning, Tae," Jungkook greeted me and sat down on the last step of the stairs. He slowly streched out his hand towards the slide switch, pulled it up and the lights in the room brightened, so I could see his face better. He seemed slightly restless, there were dark lines under his eyes and he nervously tapped his finger on his kneecap. "Well, technically it's noon already, but you just woke up. Sorry it took me so long, I was preparing something for you to eat. You must be starving."
I looked at him, feeling utterly surprised. Jungkook didn't mention anything about me being where I was. He seemed restless, but acted calm, as if everything was normal. Was it? I was not sure, that's why I couldn't really answer him.
"Why am I here?" I voiced out the question which bugged me for quite some time.
That apologetic smile, again. Jungkook showed it to me as he handed me the food tray through the horizontal bars. I took it hesitantly and waited for his answer.
