SORRY PLUTO [ JACK x ZACH ]

thirteen

it was so cold.

not just inside of me, but outside. waiting for the bus was terrible; i couldn't feel my own hands.

freezing rain had poured upon my city the night before, making the roads and ground icy, so i may have tripped once or twice, leaving my hands scraped and my knees bruised.

i shakily walked onto my bus, waving to my driver before slouching down into my seat.

falling into a small, well needed sleep.

"you look like you had a day." told jupiter while walking up to me and sitting down. i was sitting with saturn in the cafeteria, sadly laying my head on the table and trying to fall back asleep.

"oh thanks." i said sarcastically, "i just want sleep."

"we all do." boomed mars. he placed his tray on the table and sat down with the three of us.

"oh so this is a party now?" asked saturn whilst laughing,

"yeah, a fun party where i want to sleep."

he just looked at me with a smile, before shaking his head.

jupiter stole one of mars' fries, "why're you so tired?"

i groaned, "yesterday i couldn't sleep because of the stupid rain, and today it was so cold out, and i'm just so tired."

they nodded, before another boy joined us. but this boy i'd never seen before.

"hi -----," he waved, i furrowed my eyebrows as he sat down.

jupiter smiled at him, "hey."

he joined us and i wanted to drown, "why are so many people coming when i look like literal death!"

i'll call this boy neptune.

neptune sat down, "sorry. i'm ------."

so many planets were floating around me, yet i only wanted saturn. sure, mars was really nice, jupiter intimidating, and neptune seemed soft, but saturn was perfect.

i glanced to saturn's hands, noticing that he was only wearing his saturn one. he was so cute.

lunch continued nicely. i got to know neptune well, he was actually pretty nice. he loved animals and singing songs and making people happy, which i could believe as his smile was really contagious.

he had these blue eyes, and they were so prominent. i wondered if they were actually real.

mars' eyes were a collision of colors, somewhat like the color of mercury.

jupiter's eyes changed, i noticed. they're sometimes a soft blue but then it would be the lightest brown.

but saturn,

society mostly thinks that people with brown eyes aren't as flattering as blue or hazel,

which i get. just look into my brown eyes.

but even though his eyes were brown,

they were stunning.

half of this journal is just me ranting about how beautiful he is.

and he can't even believe it when i tell him he's pretty.

i reached out and held his hand under the table, closing my eyes as i once again try to sleep.

mars, jupiter and neptune, perfect orbit,

pluto.

takes some time to orbit (but it happens)

frozen.

yet,

saturn's cold too.

saturn's extremely cold,

why haven't i noticed?

how have i been so blind?

his cold hand held back onto my own,

us desperately trying to find warmth within each other,

we didn't have it.

sorry pluto.
