Night time was upon me. I went to the boundary where the forest ends. In front of me are the machine I saw earlier in the day. They were just still now.
I changed into my human form without thinking, I moved right up to the edge. I was always the one to follow orders, but after my accident with Darrel, I'm not sure anymore. I took a step forward, crossing the boundary, "Don't feel any different." I continued to walk towards the big claw machine. Staying at a safe distance, but still nudging forward, I poke at it. No movement. Sniffing at the air, nothing seemed out of place. Looking around, I find the word 'CAT', not sure if it means anything.
I find something just multiple sticks and a big wheel. "Control panel. Moving on" looking to my right there is another machine, but no claw attached. It did not look scary as much as the big one did.
Circling around, it was just another junk of a machine the humans have left. I stood in front of it taking in a big sniff, I started coughing. I did not know what that smell was but all I could say is that it burned my nostril.
looking up, something was dangling in the middle of an open space. It was not moving as much, but it did catch my eye. Moving close to its side, something resembling a door, which I was just assuming at this point since it had a handle, I grabbed it. Worst mistake ever. A loud repeating noise was coming from it.
BEEP* BEEP* BEEP*
"SHUT UP"
I transformed and started tearing it to shreds. It still wasn't enough. Bashing at the metal continuously, the noise slowly started to die down until it was completely silent again.
Finally, I changed back, and immediately ran to cover. I did not know if any humans were around or if anyone in the Forest heard that.
"I can't do this," I spoke to myself, "there isn't anything that I know about the other world." Covering my face with my hands I feel tears run down from my cheeks. " But then, I will lose my home. Everybody will lose their homes." Sitting in silence. I feel the wind. Smell the nature. Feeling calm and better I stand up. Transforming, I let out a howl, letting it echo through the night, seeing the stars, makes me smile. My journey has just begun as I walk into the unknown.
