Waking up early on a Monday morning, gathering my thoughts, I have been staying with Scarlet for three weeks already. I learned the basic human needs and all other basic human vocabulary.

Scarlet was still asleep. I made my way over to the kitchen, Scarlet had been "teaching" me tricks, so the refrigerator's handle had a towel wrapped around it. I take a bite and pull it, lo and behold the mother place of where food is kept. Luckily, Scarlet tends to always cook at home, but always tends to make more than enough food for the both of us. Meaning I try to eat from her plate because I am tired of the "dog food" bits that she gives me. I treat myself with fried chicken, who knew I would love it.

Enjoying my breakfast, I heard a thud around the house.

*THUD*

Looking around, it sounded like it came from the living room.

*THUD*

Now it came from the kitchen.

"What kind of dumb animal keeps hitting themselves"

Sniffing around the kitchen, out of the corner of my eye, I see a small weasel trying to blend into the grass. That weasel failed miserably trying to hide, I was more pissed because that grass is my playtime with Scarlet and a very good way to scratch my back. Pacing back and forward from the glass door, the weasel is stepping lightly towards me. Bearing my fangs, I kicked open the sliding glass door and ran straight for it.

"Wait! It's me!"

Not hearing the weasel clearly, I had a good chase for it when I finally got it in my mouth.
"Wait wait wait," the weasel smacking my nose. " Van't bou ftay phill," I tried speaking with my mouth full.
"I didn't understand a word you said, Killer."
Immediately spitting out the weasel, "How do you know me?" Both of us sitting, well at least I was, the weasel looked like he was standing right side up, "Surprised you don't recognize me. It's me Darrel!"
Jumping with joy, I had to calm down my excitement since I almost crushed him.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"Well I came to find you. The humans have pushed further into the forest and who knows how long it's going to take for them to reach where we live."  Darrel running around in circles.
"I'm at a lost here. I thought maybe being here with the humans could have brought me an idea or something." Playing with the grass at this point.
"Wait a second," Darrel climbing on me, "are you living with a human?"
"No. . ." Darrel knowing dam well it was a lie, "ok yes I am. But this one is different she saved me." Explaining the story of my injuries and blaming it on a 'water fountain'.
We both stood still when we hear the sound of a banshee scream.
"You think it's important?" I said while both of us were looking at each other. "Killer, you need to come home, I thought you didn't like humans." Darrel making a point. "But this one is different. I wish I could explain it but she is just something."

The scream was heard again. Looking down, Darrel was not in my sights anymore.

I laid there. Thinking of solutions on how I could stop the humans.
But is there one?
