The sun's bright rays piercing closed eyes, and the soft yet constant meowing of Theo, were a perfect combination to let anybody out of deep slumber.Anthea groaned as she turned onto her back, letting out an oof once she felt the weight of her cat on her torso.
"Good morning to you too, Theo." She greeted him in her sleepy voice, earning nothing but a small nudge to her hand from the cat. She chuckled, slowly rubbing his head and letting her fingers go behind his ears.
It was a Saturday morning, which meant that she had the day to herself. Well, that was what she thought whilst smiling until her hands couldn't find her phone .
She looked over to the bedside table, suddenly feeling shocked at the amount of missed calls and messages that had flooded her phone. At this rate she was sure it would lag.
Quickly grabbing the device, she saw the last person who tried contacting her. Hobi. She smiled when she saw his name and tapped on the call button, waiting for the rings to die.
As she made her way to the bathroom--with Theo constantly biting her pajama bottoms--she heard the voice from the other side.
"So you're back from the dead, I see." The male spoke with overflowing sarcasm.
"I'm sorry, Hobi. I'd switched off my ringer." The girl apologised, grabbing her toothbrush and squeezing a pea sized amount of toothpaste.
"Well, look what you did then!" He yelled, the device luckily on speaker. Otherwise Anthea swore she would've gotten deaf by now. "You made me worry!"
"I'm so sorry. Look, I'll make it up to you." She spoke through the bubbled up toothpaste in her mouth, continuing her morning routine. Earning a you better in return, she chuckled. "How about we go to a cafe. My treat." She asked remembering the man she saw playing the piano in the nearby cafe almost two days ago.
She also remembered the plan of going out with Jimin that she had cancelled on the same day, all because the little fluff ball that she was the owner of had miraculously survived after eating a ball of stray carpet fur.
Almost as if Hoseok knew what she was thinking, he asked. "How's Theo, by the way?"
"Better than ever." Anthea replied, eyeing the one in question as he played with the stopper in the bathtub. "I still can't believe he went through the trash can. You'd expect him to do that in search for food, but guess what this idiot choses to eat instead?"
"A ball of carpet fur!" Hoseok replied to her rhetorical question before bursting out a loud laugh. "Honestly, he reminds me of this one guy I'm friends with. You should meet him, he's crazy but fun too."
"Oh really?" The girl asked, wiping her face with a towel before picking her cat and phone before heading towards the kitchen.
"Yeah. His name's jungkook. You should meet him, you two would totally get along."
Anthea sighed as she took a seat on the dinner table. "Hobi, you know I don't want to associate with anymore people. I've had enough of everything! I just want to spend time with the people that actually care. Like you."
"...and what about Jimin." Although Anthea couldn't see, Hoseok had winced the moment those words came out of his mouth. He had already predicted her reaction. But what she replied with, really shocked him.
"Jimin is someone who I love; there's no question about that. But what we had...was toxic in a way. I don't think I can ever go back to that. So no, he no longer counts as the person I want to spend my time with."
