We Are Out Of Each Others Leagues

Chapter Thirteen

I woke up the next morning with the pillow next to me. Mason left after our sweet kiss. I get up and put on a loose shirt with sweatpants. I go out of my room and make my way downstairs. It was a mess downstairs. People passed out here and there. Some naked and some just with cups around them. Eww. I thought to myself. I went to the kitchen and there were empty bottles everywhere and empty cups, underwear and shoes. The place was trashed with garbage. I look at the time and see it is 7am. I widen my eyes. My mom will be home in two hours. Shit. Fuck.

I ran up to Chad's room and knock on the door. I try to open it but it was locked. I knock again and again till he finally opens the door. I looks like a mess and he rubs his eyes.

"What?" 

"We need to clean up. Mom will be here in two hours." 

"Fuck." he looks at me shocked. 

"Have you seen Emma?"

"Yeah. She left earlier." he says and I stare at him.

"What did you do to her?"

"Nothing." he says and he avoids eye contact with me. I just shrug and walked away. He closes his door and I went to wake Mason up. 

We all meet in the kitchen. We start waking people up and start cleaning the house. Throwing away all evidence of any kind of party. I stare at Chad every once in a while. And I get this feeling that something happened between him and my best friend. He just grin at me and we continue to cleaning up. I left her a text asking if she is okay. She hasn't respond yet.

After half an hour we were done and the house were clean. I sat down at the island and Chad takes the last trash away while Mason gets each of us a beer out of the fridge. He hands me one and opens his and Chad comes back. Mason gives him a beer and they both stand at the island, leaning on it. I check my phone again and still nothing from Emma. I look up to Chad staring at him.

"What did you do?"

"I told you nothing." Chad says and he looks down.

"You did something. I know you better than this." I pushed him to talk to me. Mason stares at us confused.

"I fucked her okay." he snaps at me.

I looked at him shocked. This wasn't part of the plan. She was just going to make out with him and let him down. Chad stares down to the island and he sighs.

"She left. She was too ashamed to face you." he says. And I was still wrapping my head around this. 

I look down and I sighed.

"How could you?" I said after a while and I look up to him.

"You think I forced her? I didn't. She was the one who told me to fuck her. And I did. You know me better than that Ri. I won't force a girl to have sex with me. Who do you think I am?" Chad snaps at me and he walks out of the kitchen. 

I look down to the island and I shake my head. The tears low in my eyes.

"Look Ri. Your brother might be an ass sometimes but he is not one to force someone to have sex with him. He has respect for girls and I know that if Emma didn't want this to happen Chad wouldn't have. Your brother is not that bad of a person. Yeah he uses girls but he has a soft spot too." Mason says. I just nod at him. I know he is right. My brother wouldn't force himself on any girl. I sighed and I get up.

"I need to be alone for a while." I said not looking at him. 

"Ri. You can talk to me if you want." he grabs my hand and I look up to him. 

I shake my head and pull my hand away. I walk out of the kitchen and went to my room. I closed the door of my room and I tried calling Em a few times. She wasn't picking up.

A text came through and I see it was from Chad. I open it.

Chad- I'm sorry.

That's all he said. I throw my phone on the bed and went back out of my room. I went to Chad's room. I knock on the door. He opens and I could see he has been crying. 

"Can we talk?"

He nods and he lets me in. I sit down on the couch and sit crossed legs on it. He sits on the bed and he looks down. 

"Do you like her?"

"I don't know." 

"Was it just a one time thing?"

"She has a boyfriend Ri. I don't think it will happen again. She is dating that guy who she went to prom with. I don't know how it happened. But she was all over me and the next thing she kissed me and..."

"Okay. Woah. I don't want the details." 

I looked around his room and I sighed. I have feelings for his best friend so how can I hold this against him. I look to the floor.

"It's fine Chad."

"You're not mad?" he asks.

I get up and went to him. I give him a smile.

"We're good. But if I need something from you then you won't even think twice to say no to me." I know I was blackmailing him. 

"You're so mean."

"I'll tell mom."

"Okay. Fine. We have a deal." 

I chuckled and I hugged him. He pushes me away after a while.

I leave his room and my mom just got home.
