[ Chapter Nineteen ]

IN LIGHT OF Vincent's note, Hayley did not waste a moment. She packed up some of Hope's things and readied herself for a trip back to New Orleans. Raylynn did the same with Ryan. They needed to get to the Griffith witch as soon as possible.

Raylynn raced into the back entrance of the old Mikaelson Compound where Vincent asked them all to meet. Her arms were wrapped around Ryan and followed after Hayley. Her best friend sprinted through the building with Hope. The little girl worsened on the drive down. She grew cold and weak, no longer able to stay awake on her own.

Klaus and Elijah moved ahead of them to scope out the abandoned space. Just in case someone decided to ambush them.

"Our home. Once the pride of our family," Klaus voiced when he took in the horrid state of the compound, "now a club house."

"Oh, how the mighty have fallen," Elijah added, ushering Hayley further into the courtyard.

"Where's Vincent?" Hayley exclaimed with Hope held against her chest. She moved over to a broken couch, now laid on the ground, and placed her daughter on the cushions.

Vincent strode into the light from the shadows at the edge of the room. "Right here," he said as he approached them. "I kept my word. Now the only question is, whether or not you're going to keep your yours." He set his stare on the hybrid. "As soon as I'm finished healing your kid -you gotta leave the city."

"Well, we're not gonna stay, are we?" Klaus snapped through gritted teeth. "Your city has lost its charm."

Raylynn shook her head, pressing her lips together, and continued to hold her son. They did not have time for bickering. Her eyes flickered across the courtyard as worry filled her chest. So far, the strange sickness did not effect Ryan, but Raylynn did not want to be too careful. That meant they needed to keep their trip short.

Hayley stood from where she knelt next to Hope. "What he means to say is that we're very grateful." She sighed and faced the witch. "Just -help her, and we'll leave."

"Just give us what we need, and we'll do so happily," Elijah told the Griffith man.

Vincent stepped closer to Hayley, crouching next to where Hope laid unconscious. He rubbed his hands together and began to mutter a spell, clapping his has faster and faster with his words. "Nettoyer timoun sa a. Nettoyer timoun sa a. Nettoyer timoun sa a. Nettoyer timoun sa a."

After a tense moment, Vincent dropped his hands and leaned back. Hope remained still, before her eyes fluttered open.

She looked around the room. Eyes narrowed when she did not recognize the place. "Mom," Hope called out.
