---------------- Sasha's POV ----------------

We darted into the shadows as Lord Ruy strode out of my father's office. Worry lines were edged into his forehead, and his movements were tense and rigid. Perhaps it had something to do with the collapse she had heard her father and the doctor discussing a few minutes ago? I knew the meager knowledge they had learned from the discussion within the office would not be enough to satisfy Cahya's ravenous curiosity. I sighed, following her as she moved closer to the unsuspecting Lord, who had moved into a far corner of the hall.

We watched closely as Lord Ruy halted and quickly pulled out his imparter from a hidden pocket within his dark black cloak.

"Hail Agent 2," He commanded sharply. A pause followed as the agent was contacted.

"I'm afraid there's been an emergency situation"

...

"I lost connection to my psionpathy before collapsing," his voice edged with a touch of anxiousness, if not fear.

....

"Yes, I'm sure. Hail all the leaders for a meeting. "

...

He pocketed his imparter, before raising a path finder and vanishing into the beam of light.

We headed back to my bedroom, still unsure and uneasy about Lord Ruy's conversation.

"What do you think he meant by psionpathy?" I asked Cahya, flopping backwards onto my bed. I stared up at the overhead canopy, as fine as silk and decorated with beads that looked as though they were made out of the sky.

"Are you sure that's what he said?" Cahya asked. But instead of detecting uncertainty in her voice, as I expected, I heard anxiousness and confusion. I turned over to face her, and saw her twisting her hands together, as she stared out of the window overlooking the lush green gardens below.

I took her hands in mine. "Cahya, you can tell me anything."

Her next words slammed an ice cold barrier between us. "No... no, I can't." The words hung heavy in the air, as she took back her hands, placing them into her lap. After her parents and sister were taken away by the neverseen for their disabilities, I've always been there for her to confide in and I've always believed that there were no secrets between us. I thought we were closer than sisters. And now I wonder, how many lies has she told me?

"Cahya, what really happened in those passages? Lord Ruy mentioned disabilities, and then both you and him collapsed." Although a turmoil of emotions churned within me, my voice was smooth and gentle. There was no response. "Cahya please. I'm worried for you. I know you're keeping a secret from me."
